Try to avoid the 4th floor
Pros:

We absolutely loved all the staff especially the breakfast team. Everyone was so helpful.
We really enjoyed the location perfect for the beach and for the town.

Cons:

We didnt like the curtains they were like rags and fell way short of the window sill extremely ill fitting and so old. It really let the place down as the early summer light woke us very early both days. Our advise is dont sleep on the 4th floor if you can avoid it. The windows up there are very small and gothic shaped so it would be very expensive for them to fit blinds. The result was a very hot room with very little air..

Cons:

Stale smell in the corridor, narrow corridors, lack of air conditioning is a big minus as cornwall is hot, particularly in times of heat wave

Great location, lovely building and grounds, breakfast was delicious

Cons:

Some of the Staff were unhelpful and slightly rude on occasion (not all of them some were lovely), some areas were very old, grotty and dated, maintenance being undertaken, everything seemed difficult, restrictive and timely (check in, breakfast booking times, arranging dinner lunch, using pool etc.)

Wonderful location and great value for money.
Pros:

Location is amazing. Bar/restaurant and food all very good. Garden lovely. Excellent breakfast.

Cons:

Room was a little basic and though the gym/pool facilities were too. Felt like a lot of chlorine in the pool.

Location great. Main lobby and bar area very nice.

Cons:

Very tired rooms. We had ceiling covering coming off and hanging down and a light shade that must have dated from the late 1970’s. Toilet area was clean but very dated.

Very tired room,curtains were hanging off rail and looked 50 yrs old carpets going thread bare,wallpaper on ceiling all split and ready for a bit of glue.lovely hotel but you should be warned of the quality of your room at time of booking and given the option of booking one of the apparently recently updated rooms and obviously pay a premium,the pics of the room I picked at time of booking were absolutely nothing like the room we got.
