Hunter's Country House

Alleen maar lof: van hartelijk ontvangst, tot welkomsdrankje, prachtig domein, prachtige kamer, service die ongezien is.... Dit was het beste hotel tijdens onze vakantie (5 hotels gedaan) en wij komen ABSOLUUT terug!
Iedere avond werd onze haard aangemaakt, iedere avond kregen wij een koekje, snoepje,... naast het bed, er was een welkomsfles voorzien en tijdens een koude avond kregen wij zelfs een warmwaterkruik in bed, ... wat een absolute verwennerij! Er werd ook aan alles gedacht: een grote lamp in de kamer om 's avonds op het domein rond te lopen, muggenspray in de kamer en reservaties in de restaurants die al gemaakt werden. Dit hotel en de service overtroffen onze verwachtingen, zeker voor de prijs die we betaald hebben!!!

The staff was amazing, we made it here during a great storm & weather warning and the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable right away. We only noticed, how bad the situation was, when we left again, saw all the fallen trees and heard from other hotels that they didn't have power for three days. Meanwhile we blissfully enjoyed Hunter's Country House, so thank you!

اعتمدت في حجزي على التقييمات العالية والصور، لكن الواقع كان مختلفًا تمامًا. توقعت منتجعًا فاخرًا متكامل الخدمات، بينما المكان أقرب لنُزل منعزل داخل غابة، عبارة عن أكواخ بأثاث كلاسيكي قديم ومتهالك نسبيًا، والمظهر لا يشبه الصور.

الفطور محدود جدًا خاصة للمسلمين، والمطاعم لا تستقبل حجز بعد الساعة 8 مساءً . وصلنا الساعة 8:30 مساءً بعد رحلة طويلة (6 ساعات) ولم نتمكن من تناول العشاء، واقتصر الخيار على خدمة الغرف.

لا توجد أي أنشطة بعد المغرب، والأجواء ليلًا مظلمة ومخيفة خصوصًا مع الطقس السيئ؛ عشنا عاصفة قوية ولم نستطع النوم بسبب صوت الرياح والمطر. قد يكون توقيت زيارتنا (نهاية أبريل) سببًا إضافيًا، حيث شعرنا أحيانًا أننا النزلاء الوحيدون. كما أن الحشرات منتشرة، وقد لا يناسب المكان من يخاف منها.

المكان مناسب لمن يبحث عن العزلة والهدوء والبساطة، لكنه لم يناسبني. أنصح بالاكتفاء بليلتين كحد أقصى والاستمتاع به نهارًا. حجزنا كان 5 ليالٍ وغادرنا بعد 3.وهذه اول مره اخرج من فندق قبل انتهاء المده بالرغم من سفري الكثير

بشكل عام، لم تكن تجربة موفقة بالنسبة لي

‏I based my booking on the high ratings and photos, but the reality was completely different. I expected a luxurious, full-service resort, but the place felt more like a secluded lodge in the forest, consisting of cabins with old, somewhat worn classic furniture. The overall appearance did not match the photos.

‏Breakfast options were very limited, especially for Muslims, and the restaurants do not accept bookings after 8 PM. We arrived at 8:30 PM after a long 6-hour journey and were unable to have dinner, with room service being the only option.

‏There are no activities after sunset, and the atmosphere at night is very dark and unsettling, especially during bad weather. We experienced a strong storm and couldn’t sleep due to the noise of wind and rain. The timing of our visit (late April) may have been an additional factor, as we sometimes felt like we were the only guests at the hotel. In addition, insects are everywhere, which may not suit those who are afraid of them.

‏The place may suit those who are looking for isolation, quietness, and simplicity, but it did not suit me. I would recommend staying no more than two nights and enjoying it during the day. We booked 5 nights but checked out after 3—this is the first time I have ever left a hotel before the end of my stay despite my frequent travels.

‏On the positive side, the staff were very kind and helpful and responded to our request to change the room. Special thanks to Mr. Patrick for his support.

‏Overall, it was not a good experience for me.

Hunter’s Country House was one of the most beautiful hotel experiences I have ever had in my life. It was a complete experience in every way, in terms of service quality, cleanliness, and the professionalism and kindness of the staff. The hotel and the cottage also feature very beautiful views that create a sense of comfort and relaxation, and the surrounding area is absolutely wonderful and adds even more to the charm of the stay. A truly exceptional experience in every sense of the word, and I highly recommend it.

We love Hunters Country House but this is the first time I’ve noticed a few cracks in the veneer.. some of the furniture is tired and needs replacing or a facelift. I only point this out as if they are going to charge the rates they do they can’t have old worn sofas in the rooms and have the paint peeling from all their dining chairs in the breakfast room. Just little things that need to stay at a certain level to maintain the level of luxury if they want to charge the current daily rates.

Frühstück topp, auch draußen im Garten möglich, sehr idyllisch

Hunters Country Lodge ist einfach traumhaft. Die Lage ist perfekt gelegen um Aktivitäten in Plettenberg Bay zu unternehmen. Robberg Nature Reserve ist nur 15 min mit dem Auto entfernt!

Die Ruhe vor Ort ist einfach perfekt und wir haben super geschlafen. Die Badezimmer sind ein Traum und auf Wunsch wird einem nachts der Kamin eingeheizt.

Wir waren im Sage und Zinzi im Hotel essen. Etwas vorne war das Sage geschmacklich, aber beide Restaurants definitiv zu empfehlen, wenn man abends nicht mehr fahren möchte.

Das Personal ist super zuvorkommend! Wir haben uns ab Sekunde eins richtig wohl gefühlt! Es war die beste Unterkunft auf unserer 14 tägigen Südafrika Reise und wir wollen definitiv wieder kommen!

We had a fabulously relaxing stay at Hunter's, passing through on our journey along the Garden Route. We dined at both Zinzi's and Tsala and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The locations is beyond amazing. It feels like a boutique hotel, since the service is impeccable. Everything was outstanding

Loved this quality hotel. Beautiful gardens, tastefully decorated rooms and superb food and service.
