Couldn't wash up, went to sleep. Woke up and left early. Cup of good coffee for the road. Not happy.

It may be cheap but you get less than you pay.

No toilet paper
Dirty dishes in the dishwasher
No dishwasher soap
Dirty frying pan
Old coffee in coffee maker
TV power plug was unplugged
HDMI to TV was unplugged
Loads of trash left next to elevator on our floor for 2 days till we asked to remove it.
Twice our door cards failed to work and I know not to put my phone near them
Top Dresser drawer wouldn’t stay closed
Coat hook on wall about to fall out
Blistering paint in bathroom.
The American flag was slightly tattered but knotted to it was the company flag.

Pros:

Location was fine. Convenient for what I was there for.

Cons:

Trash bags left outside the hotel, making the property look grubby. The carpets and furniture are worn looking. Towels in room were tiny and thin. Luckily I always take my own.

Cons:

I stayed at the Candlewood Suites Harrisburg-Hershey (Room 412, Oct 17–19, 2025) and was very disappointed. The room was visibly dirty—carpets and counters hadn’t been cleaned, the coffee maker and dishes were filthy, and dust covered most surfaces. The bathroom was not properly sanitized, and we were told towels were limited and there was no hand or body soap available.

Only one staff member was on duty all weekend, and no manager was available to resolve these issues. Having previously worked for Candlewood Suites and other hotel brands, I expected far better from IHG. I’ve contacted both IHG Corporate and Booking.com but haven’t received a response. I hope management addresses these concerns so future guests don’t experience the same.

Pros:

This hotel is 12 years old. I have stayed here three times.

Clearly, top management is neglecting this facility. The chairs in my room would not even be fit to donate to Goodwill. Torn and worn.


The air conditioning reeked of a pet odor when used. Had to open the window to get a nice smell in the room.


Many areas of the hotel had worn carpet. The lobby furniture was even worn. Cigarette butts were all over the parking lot.

Staff was very nice and accommodating

Couldn’t provide us with a clean room late in the night when we arrived, and still haven’t been able to get a refund for the room we pre paid and couldn’t stay in since it was so filthy from the previous people. Do not stay here.

3 decent kitchenette, but it was not cleaned. Microwave had food debris inside, handles on
refrig and cupboards all sticky to the touch.

4: coffeemaker in room but no coffee. Had to go down the hall to the communal coffeemaker—
which did not work
5. Bed mattress noticeably slopped steeply down to the middle from both sides

Pros:

From the time we arrived the staff was great. The teenagers were happy with free laundry service and the mini store downstairs. Having a gas station with fresh food so close (walkable!) was perfect. Free laundry units downstairs was an added bonus. The staff was friendly and helpful every step of the way. My only concern is the cleanliness of the room, but we made the best of it. Only 20 minutes from Hershey Park, plenty of food options around and a 24hr has station for all of our needs. Cleanliness could be better; drawers and floor had some debris, but we didn't spend much time in the room itself except to sleep. Beds were comfortable, shower was hot and having use of microwave and ice maker was an added bonus. Will 100% stay again when we come back to Harrisburg!

Worth one night price but wouldn’t stay more than a day or two.
Pros:

Staff was friendly and very cooperative.

Cons:

Tv didn’t work, pool was shut down for over a year with the outside structure of the building being exposed.
