Location
Room could have been a more clean
Dirty rooms
Garbage in hallway
I requested to talk to the manager but she never got in contact with me.
I called corporate but never got a return call.
Stay away. They take your money and then you are stuck in a filthy hotel.
The front desk woman was friendly. Other than that very much not impressed.
The bathroom wasn't clean (there were hairs in the shower when we got there). The floors throughout were dirty. Autumn had a QR code for a tip for the housekeeping services, but my tip would be to clean before asking for tips first not doing a job properly.
You can't use Apple or Samsung pay for your room tho they have it clearly available. You're only able to tap for purchases in the mini store.
The bed wasn't bad (tho small - I didn't book the room), but the other furniture on the room was falling apart. The lobby was also in a pretty bad state.
Our friends' room had no toilet paper or towels. Shocking.
Ice in your room fridge is nice & all, but takes a long time to start and is loud, so we had to turn that off to sleep.
Very surprising for Candlewood Suites. All others we've stayed at have been clean and kept up well.
I'd definitely pay more and stay elsewhere in the future. We will not return.
My trip in June 2026
This is the worst visit I have ever had on June 12, 2026, till June 14. During my check-in, the new person's access and password weren't working, so it took him some time to check me in to my room. I was set up to stay an extra day during my visit and leave on Monday morning, June 15. Which was great because my trip was extended. The front desk recharged my room keys. When I left around 1:30 noon on June 14 to attend my event in Harrisonburg. They told me there was nothing else I needed to do, the extra day will be charged to my IGH rewards and credit card. I have been a member for 12 years. I saw a cleaning lady in the hall. I asked her not to clean my room, I will be back today, and I placed the “do not disturb " sign on my door. She said, "Okay, I will not clean the room." When I returned that evening, the cleaning people had cleaned my room without my permission. They threw away my food and drinks I had in the refrigerator, which cost over $85.00. I had left my cooler with drinks and suitcase with my clothes visible on the hotel floor in the room. So, there is no way you should have thought I left my food and clothes there. The cleaning staff should have called the front desk immediately and asked if this person had checked out. Plus, you ignore the “do not disturb " sign on the door? Isn’t this an invasion of privacy? What really upset me was that they threw away my fresh, untouched, still in the original wrapper from Philly, Cheese Steak sandwiches out of the refrigerator. Which included alcoholic drinks and other food. I stop in Philadelphia every year at my favorite cheesesteak place to get them. I freeze them in the hotel refrigerator and take them home when I check out and at the end of my stay. I am vexed, peeved, irked, and ruffled. A 2 1/2-hour trip to Philadelphia was wasted. As well as a 1 hour await in the Cheesesteak line.
When I noticed they threw away my food in the refrigerator. I immediately went to the front desk and asked the front desk agent. Yollanda appeared, and she texted the manager, China Zhou, about what had happened, but it was so late that China Zhou didn’t respond. Yolland and I searched the entire hotel for my cooler, which was also taken from my room, when they so-called cleaned my room and threw my food away. Weird, they didn’t touch my luggage and suitcase in the room. They cleaned the refrigerator with my food and took my cooler with the liquor and drinks. (Hmm, the usual suspects). Yollanda and I found my cooler in the Cleaning Staff’s Day Room. Question: Did the cleaning staff really throw away the food (or did you eat it?) Note: The cleaning staff kept my cooler with the liquor and drinks in their Cleaning Staff Day room. (Hmm, the usual suspects). Why didn’t the cleaning staff contact the front desk and ask what was going on in my room? Or where are you planning to take my cooler and liquor the next day? Or maybe they even planned to come back for my clothes the next day. I had to leave early the next day. I couldn’t wait for the manager to arrive the next morning to discuss my issues.
So, I reached out to the manager, China Zhou, by phone when I returned home. China Zhou had the nerve to say it was my fault. How rude and unprofessional. (Really!) Her defense was “Her employees don't speak good English”. They misunderstood me and cleaned the room. It is not the hotel's fault that they threw away my food”. (stole for a better word) It is your fault, and we are not compensating you for your loss. No compassion, not I’ll investigate it, nothing! I told her I was calling corporate headquarters, and she gave me the number. The number just gave me the run around. They said there is NO corporate headquarters; you must deal with China Zhou. China Zhou, here is a food for thought, just because your employees don’t speak good English doesn't mean they don’t know how to steal in Spanish. Please learn to accept full responsibility for your employees’ actions and never blame the customer. I am agitated, discomposed, disquieted, unsettled, flustered, and perturbed. So, if this is my outcome, I’ll post this on every site I can find. To let everyone know how you treat your customers.
Other outtakes: The phone in my room didn't work. I tried to call the front desk from my room 5 times, and they couldn't hear me. I had to use my cell phone. Thank God it wasn't an emergency, and I had to use the room phone to get help.
The ice maker in the freezer was making 5 to 6 cubes a day. I told them about it, and they did nothing.
In the bathroom, in the toilet bowl under the ring, where the water came out, there was black mold. I bought some cleaner and a brush and cleaned it myself. That was disgusting. There is no need to call the Cleaning Staff; they don’t speak good English.
Dirty room looks like nothing was wiped down. Way overpriced
My reservation was confirmed. Hotel was sold out no rooms available. We drove out of our way to this hotel. Only to be turned away by the front desk. I don't know who was at fault. I had a confirmed reservation, the hotel claims that booking.com was at fault, hotel was booked full for a long while, booking.com should have never made the reservation
We had a full sized refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, and the rooms are a lot roomier than most basic hotel rooms.
Location
Pool was out of order but not listed on the website
Nothing because I never got a chance to stay there
Everything
The bed was at least very comfortable.
The hotel is so dirty!!! I was assigned one room and there was dust all over the carpet and in the concerns. I then found a huge dead roach under the bed. I asked to be moved to a different room, which was a little better, but there was hair in the sink and some weird brown thing. The hotel is not clean at all, and is horrific.
Location: The location is unbeatable. It’s tucked away in a quiet area that feels private and safe, yet it’s only a quick 15-minute drive to both Hershey Park and downtown Harrisburg. You’re close enough to the action without being stuck in the middle of tourist traffic.
Atmosphere & Service: From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed—more like a modern apartment complex than a revolving-door hotel. The service was standout; the front desk staff was professional, fast, and genuinely helpful with local restaurant recommendations.
Rooms, Cleanliness & Noise Level: Our suite was impressively clean and spacious. I’m a light sleeper, but the noise level was non-existent; the walls are thick, and the blackout curtains actually work. The layout is great for longer stays, with plenty of storage and a workspace that doesn't feel cramped.
Amenities & Value: The amenities are where this place really wins on value. Having a full kitchen (fridge, stove, dishwasher) saved us a fortune on dining out. We used the Lending Locker to borrow a board game for a rainy afternoon, and the free guest laundry is a total game-changer for families. You get so much more for your money here compared to the standard hotels nearby.
Overall: Clean, quiet, and perfectly located. Whether you’re here for work or a Hershey getaway, this is the best bang for your buck in the area!
The staff were amazing and very helpful. The location is perfect.
The rooms were a little shabby. Cracks in the ceiling, the chair covers are in need of cleaning. The rest of the room was clean and smelled good.
Coffee was nice.
That was it.
Room dirty, no towels or wash cloths to shower. Shower dirty.
