Nice hotel if somewhat dated

Good location, surrounded by greenery, large spacious and light rooms, lovely breakfast and friendly helpful staff

Very good but a bit pricey.
Pros:

Location and service were very good. Breakfast spread was good.

Cons:

A bit high price for the market and class of hotel. Quality of some of the warm breakfast items was a bit underwhelming (pongal, vada). Idli and dosa were well prepared.

A very basic hotel, outdated with staff who simply don’t seem to care.
Pros:

Nothing really although bed was comfortable enough with a decent shower.

Cons:

Outdated hotel which no better than 2/3 stars. Surly reception staff, pool area is disgraceful with dirty sun beds, filthy tiled floors. Once in hotel zero facilities so absolutely nothing to do. Bar area is like stepping back in time. Dark, dingy full of men who were very drunk, one asleep & the other literally grunting/burping every 2 mins.
Hotel manager when we left chased us as we paid the wrong amount for the peanuts & owed a further 100 rupees!! Sad beyond words.

Electric outlets ( plug points) were old and not in proper condition. Most of them were loose and we had difficulty plugging our phone chargers

The only place to stay in Thanjavur

The receptionist who gave me one of her fine little pens on checkout, that's the kind of gracious gesture one never forgets

Cons:

Dreadful canned music in Reception, and too loud and intrusive! I mean, really, appalling!! (Sound is my profession)

No fault of the hotel, but inconsiderate guests making noise in the bedroom corridors at all hours of the night. Guests, please have mercy on those of us that actually sleep sometimes.

Colazione abbondante, buona scelta soprattutto sul salato (meno sul dolce). peccato che la macchina per espresso/cappuccino non fosse funzionante

Cons:

L'insonorizzazione delle camere verso l'esterno è scarsa, la struttura esterna con i ventilatori degli scambiatori di calore centralizzati produce molto rumore (a partire dalle 5:30 del mattino)
