Sueno Dorado Hot Springs Hotel

The property is very dated, breakfast is very limited. There is no even shampoo in the room. But hot springs are nice that’s probably only thing nice about this hotel.

Lovely hot springs pools - 4 to choose from and very quiet. We stayed in a spacious family room and we were able to check-in early and check-out late. Nice breakfast and reliable wi-if. Needed a taxi / uber to get to la fortuna.

Nice hot pools and one cold pool for swimming. The shower did not always have hot water and the light over the toilet did not work. Housekeeping service was great and the room was kept clean. Reception checking in and out was slow. Breakfast was a little too salty. Good location close to town.

We stayed for 5 nights. I like the early check in to be able to use the amenities fro the whole day. It is an older resort, however it was really clean and the staff were absolutely lovely. The multiple pools were great, nice to be able to move around to different ones with different temperatures. I liked the location of the resort, easy access to all the activities.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this awesome hotel at the base of Volcano Arenal. Our check in was super easy and the office staff was friendly and helpful. The bartender, Jose, provided conversation and incredible drinks. Our hotel room was clean, food was good. Views and hot springs were perfect. We would love to stay here again.

El hotel no lo recomendaría, hay mejores… ofrecen desayuno pero no es la gran cosa y el horario fatal (más si anda uno de vacaciones, descansando), las instalaciones descuidadas… las piscinas de aguas termales digamos que aceptables … lo único que rescato de la estadía fue la atención y el servicio de don Jose en el bar, un 100.. que persona más amable, disfrutamos mucho con su persona, nos complació con los cocteles y el servicio de comida estuvo bien ( algo contradictorio porque el desayuno pésimo)… en resumen un hotel malo con un bartender súper bueno.

We loved our stay here. Ariana was very welcoming on our arrival and all the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was a nice buffet style with good food. We enjoyed the friendliness of Jose, at the bar, even thought we don't drink. Molly the resident puppy is very sweet.
Being able to park right by your room is great. The showers don't get very hot, but it was okay.
We loved sitting in the warmest pool after a day of hiking. There were toucans around and we loved watching them eat the palm berries.

The price is way too high for the quality of the establishment. The rooms are in need of a major renovation. However, the staff were lovely and the complimentary breakfast was good.

Little overrated

The room was a 2* more like a motel. However, the property with hot springs was very nice!

Staying here was wonderful. The staff was accommodating to our delayed flight. Breakfast was great. The hot springs were great. We will be back!

Reception was welcoming and friendly. I was allowed to borrow an umbrella walking in the rain while visiting a nearby hot springs. Breakfast was good, even though I missed one day due to leaving too early for a tour. My room was clean, but a bit worn and needs updating. I was unaware that I would be placed in a room (#3) next to an unoccupied one going through construction because the work went on until nearly 8 pm on the first evening I stayed. It was unpleasant, especially trying to rest after a long day out on tour. The shower did not have hot water at all, so both nights, I took cold showers. For this reason alone, I may not stay at this property again. If they update their rooms in the near future, I will
reconsider. I also requested that my room not be serviced until after check out, but noticed housekeeping entered, anyway. The room rates were reasonable, and the wildlife around property as well as the view of Arenal Volcano were wonderful. Those were the highlights of my stay as well as the friendliness of staff. I would have given a much lower rating on this property had I been completely unsatisfied.

The staff was very friendly and the food was good. The hot springs and pool area were nice. The hotel rooms were very dated and our door frame was broke.

Very nice staff. Small grounds with great views of Volcano. Boutique size place, maybe only 10 rooms and nice but small pool deck and 4 hot springs. Great breakfast, very convenient in and out location with a car. Not a fancy big resort place but was absolutely fine and budget friendly, would recommend no problem. Other "grand" volcano hot spring resorts were actually sold out so I picked this one and was very happy, and was lower cost overall with a great breakfast and very friendly staff. No restaurant for evening meals FYI. Not that kind of resort place. I liked the larger hot spring by the bar with music playing and in the sun with a view of the volcano, I spent an afternoon hanging out there in the spring and talking to people, looking at the volcano and getting drinks from the bar.

I appreciated the owner's willingness to give a refund, they are very kind. The property is pretty dingy for this pricepoint. I had to sweep and clean when we arrived. There wasn't hardly any items needed to be able to cook in the kitchen.
