Dissapointed
Cons:

The pool was closed for most of the day because somebody smashed a glass in the pool area so it was shut for the whole day, very dissapointing when you have young children

Was ok
Pros:

The decor was tired , not as nice as the Carlton , the swimming pool had scaffolding up , would have been nice to know that before we booked , breakfast was ok. but the staff were miserable, showed us to a table , no mention of where the food was or how it worked ,miserable , we have stayed at the Carlton a couple times , which is more comfortable, , the room at the Derwent was clean , but the bed wasn’t comfortable, and the decor was tired and basic

Could have been better as I paid a lot of money for one night stay
Pros:

Very good location close to the beach, breakfast was great

Cons:

I checked in and noticed in my room the bed sheet was dirty, then had ask for it to be changed. The bathroom door handle was broken and not fixable at the time. The chair in the room was dirty so couldn’t sit on it

The whole hotel is very run down and lucking of any maintenance.
Pros:

Walking distance to the beach and harbour was convenient.

Cons:

The choice of breakfast options very limited and the actual taste of the breakfast was really greasy. The lift was very tiny - fits only 2 people, where stairs and corridors tiny as well and felt very counterphobic walking around. The pools - indoor & outdoor , pretty dirty. The out door pool was closing at 5pm , on a hot day. The whole hotel is very run down and lucking of any maintenance.

Cons:

The rooms are very old, and the bathroom is in very poor condition. The rooms and the cleanliness also leave a lot to be desired. Overall, the accommodation was disappointing and did not meet our expectations.
