The Elleray

The staff member that showed us to our room said we could leave our bags with them at checkout. When we checked out there was no staff in the pub / hotel.

The towels were dirty / filthy.

The bedroom doors are very heavy so when people come back late at night they slam and woke us up several times a night.

Dogs are welcome which is fine. But a dog was loose in the always all night barking and crying. I eventually went into the hallway after being woken up by barking / crying again at 4am to find the dog had poo’d all over the carpet and when I stepped out into the hallway to try and find its owner I stepped in its poo.

The carpets are very dirty and in general the place was dirty.

The rugs werent completely clean, and the sofa smelled a bit of smoke - not too bad but my sense of smell is quite sensitive to smoke. The bed wasn't that comfortable, but okay. The shower wasn't working at first but Cas helped me out pretty quickly.

The carpet in the corridors was a bit worn/dirty, but didn’t affect our stay

Needs a bit of cleaning

The fan didn’t work so it was very hot at night (mostly because of the heatwave though)!

Some stuff not so cheerful and helpful. Not useful or helpful online customer service. Hair on the bathroom floor in our room. Didn’t get the bed size we requested.

To be honest the hotel was a little tatty. It needs a lot of attention, maintenance and general decor. Large cracks in the ceiling of the room, broken blind in the bathroom and rugs which I assume were being used to cover the poor carpet ,but were trip hazards, especially in the night when you do not want to put a light on. Also a broken bannister on the stairs which may be dangerous in the future. Whilst it was not an expensive stay, I have never stayed anywhere before where the rooms are not serviced. Whilst this was not a major issue it would have been nice to have known in advance and as I said anything we asked for was not an issue for the staff. All in all though, this did not affect our short stay.

通常の朝食時間が平日でも朝9時からという遅い時間だった。
（しかし、それでは観光や列車移動の時間に間に合わないため、説明して特別に朝食を8時からに早めて貰った。）
平日はもっと早い時間（7時か7時半から）に朝食を取れれば客にとって高評価になると思う。

I love the location. A o to anywhere ( including the train station). The room was very clean and surprisingly quiet even though we were in the center of things. Everything great and so affordable. Excellent hot breakfast. Huge value.

I don’t think the staff knew much about hospitality sector and how to treat their customers. We stayed for 3 nights and the garbage bins were never emptied and had to ask for extra towels which we got a day later.

　B&Bなので仕方ないが気になる人はいるだろう。我々は気にならないレベルだったので、神経質になりすぎないほうがいい。

Nothing, absolutely fantastic place to stay

Overall carpet and bed seems taty, the tea cups were used so I had to bring them to reception and the member of staff apologised for this, and they brought clean cups to my bedroom. The top glasses of the bedside table were not clean, it had marks of glasses...I guess from the previous guest. The water of the bottle, next to the cups was not fresh nor the empty glasses next to it - so they didn't bothered providing clean glasses and fresh water either.
