It's a very old heritage building and could do with a bit of spruce up.

Unique, close to everything and good food
Room I booked didn't have any widows which wasn't evident from photo when I booked. But this was not the fault of the hotel.
Long story short: The wait is long, the staff are rude, the boss is a hotheaded muppet, the food is overpriced and also undercooked.
The long list of bad reviews say it all. This place is craaaaaap

The hotel is needing some TLC
We there with my besties & our kids for a quick lunch (3 adults & 3 kids). If we were Caucasian it would have been quick.
Granted the long weekend was busy, so we expected to wait. But we came in first & who looked like the manager walked past us and sat a same size party before us first. Only gave us 5 seats till I asked for another seat. No table water, till we asked for water.
Drinks came out and there was a bug in the lemonade - rather than apologising, they replaced it with what looked like half the glass, so literally pouring out the offending part.
Food took a long time, again it could be forgiven if everyone was like that, but the party that got seated slightly before us had ordered eaten & left before we asked for the first time why our food was taking so long. Maybe 10 minutes later we got our food - it was cold and mediocre. Absolutely not worth the wait.
When we went to pay, they couldn’t even bother with a smile. The white looking people got big smiles, asked how was their meals, check ins etc
Overall experience - if we could give a zero, we would.
The Resturant staff were stressed, inexperienced and owner was rude and racist. After waiting for nearly an hour the food came out cold and very average. The workers were racist with obvious better treatment to non asains

Our room had no bedside tables. It also had no lights operable from the bed.

Great sized room but a badly sqeaking floor spoilt it. The window wouldn't close properly. Great to have a spa but jets sent water everywhere. Hand held shower inadequate.
The location was excellent for the middle of town
We booked for our Anniversary in the restaurant only to find they closed this area, but opened their Cafe area for evening meals. Didn't have the atmosphere so cancelled and went to another restaurant locally. Room flooring is very creaky. And on the round bedding new supported pillows needed. Room service was excellent on the second day .
