Offered a spa bath which didn’t work, the sink had an enormous crack in it, heaps of cables hanging from the wall under the tv, not sure it had been dusted in years and there was rubbish under the bed.
Fantastic location, spacious room, very comfy bed, great spa in room, easy parking, handy having the cafe and bar downstairs - there’s a lot to like about this place.
Very minor maintenance issues like bathroom shelves and toilet roll holder loose and aslant.

The spa bath & location
The floor creaked with every step. The hotel was very run down. Both mornings we were woken up to the sound of renovations & vacuuming. Bed was very uncomfortable.
Location was perfect - right in the centre of town which means walking distance to the supermarket, cafes and local shops. The bed was extremely comfortable.
The cost was not reflected in the room. The room had REALLY poor lighting - even with all lights and lamps on, it was too dark to read a book. Speaking of the lamps, they took up so much space on the bedside tables that there was no room for personal items. The room was often not cleaned properly - bed made up but cups not cleaned and no vacuuming. The bathroom door handle and toilet lid were broken. My impression of the hotel can be illustrated by this - the feature of my room was a giant piece of artwork on the wall. It had obviously been knocked at some point and was extremely crooked (like seriously angled) and no one from the hotel bothered to straighten it either before I arrived or during my 3 night stay. That lack of care was evident throughout the hotel.
The room was delayed for one hour it had not been cleaned. Checked in just after 4pm, instead of 3pm. Team was great, free glass of wine at the bar then a bottle for the room, complimentary! Great save!
There was a spider in the bathroom and the toilet roll kept falling off the holder because it was defective. When I ran the jacuzzi tub, some particles came out of the jets so may need to clean those.
Lovely old quirky building and rooms and bathrooms a good size. All bedrooms differently decorated really funky and fun. Lovely outside area.
