Cons:

There were church bells ringing RIGHT OUTSIDE THE WINDOW starting at 6:30am, every day. And they would end at 10pm. Impossible to sleep well.

Also, the wifi in the room wasn't great. It didn't work in the bathroom.

Fair, but not worth the high price.
Pros:

Breakfast was good but glad we did not pre-purchase as it was cheaper than the prepay price. The staff was friendly.

Cons:

The room was really dark. After the water got hot which took about 5 minutes it was almost scalding and would not adjust even when changing the controls to cold. There is a church across the street that rings bells every 15 minutes from 6:30 AM until 10 PM. I realize that is not in the hotel’s control but warning would be fair. I was pretty sure I had reserved a room with a balcony but our room did not have one.

Old World Elegance
Pros:

This hotel is all that; excellent location, beautifully restored, exquisite attention to detail, luxurious use of building materials, attentive and well trained staff and excellent meals that were visually appealing with fresh ingredients.

We loved staying here, overlooking the bay while watching fireworks and ringing in the new year. Will come back for my next visit to Panama!

Overall it is a nice hotel in a good location but the noise ruined our stay!
Pros:

Excellent location and courteous staff

Cons:

Do not book this on weekends!! There were weddings both Friday and Saturday night with disco blaring until 3 am both nights!! We also had a major issue with the air handling system in our room which made extremely load banging and fan noises intermittently , once at 2:00 a.m. we recorded the noise and showed it to the front desk. Maintenance apparently checked it but it happened at least twice more after that.
