Needed one night before meeting family. Spotlessly clean, large rooms with great a/c. Breakfast and lunch available but lovely dinner can be had next door. My room had a fridge, hot plate, microwave, coffee maker( bring your own coffee) and dishes. The hot water was consistent for showers. Staff do not speak English!
Travelling alone I was very safe even though the cab ride to get there seemed like I was going deep into nowhere. Playa Largo is very quiet, definitely a place for making your own fun or relaxing by the pool or in the beach. No stores close by .
This extraordinary restaurant is set on a cliff side patio half way down a cliff overlooking a stunning bay. The surprising entrance is part of the amazing experience This is a place to go to watch the sunset in addition the good food and service are wonderful. We had delicious seafood and lamb dinners and can highly recommend this restaurant.
We booked at this hotel in March, 2019 (10 months before our vacation) and found out one week before we flew to Zihuatanejo in January, 2020 that our reservation had been terminated with no explanation. The same thing happened to the reservation of the couple that was travelling with us. Thankfully we had booked through Expedia so they were able to find alternate accommodations for us on such short notice. I will never consider booking at this hotel again.
I loved the oceanfront property! Breakfast was as wonderful!
Excelente servicio y el establecimiento con muy bonito.
It is in Ixtapa
To make a long story short?
You don't want to go there.
We are talking about the restaurant experience. Nothing else.
The hostess, we were there for a birthday party and most of us are 75,
Did not even touch her dish after having one look at it, an " os so bucco", misspelled.
The silverware was cafeteria material.
I found Casa Kua-Kan to be well-designed and beautifully appointed. There was never a problem with the reservation, the accommodation or any aspect of the stay. The Spanish-speaking staff were super-accommodating of anything needed during my stay. The beach and village around Playa Larga are tranquil for sure.
The setting with a panoramic view of the beach and ocean was fabulous.
For our short time there, 3 days, the remoteness was wonderful. For a much longer stay, that could be an issue in terms of transportation (no buses) for shopping.
Super quiet with empty beach. Swimming can be tricky as waves are big
We visited for just a one-night's stay away from Zihua proper. We were the only guests for the night (a Thursday in early December), which was nice to enjoy the pool and incredible view all to ourselves. However, this also meant no evening food or drinks available, which we didn't know ahead of time. We walked over the adjacent property (Puerta Paraiso) and no food/drink services there either. The area is very isolated, so you can't just walk to an enramada. We ended up getting a cab to a tienda about 2 miles away, and stocking up on drinks/snacks to get us through till morning. I don't even know if any staff was on the property overnight, which is a little scary to think about, as it's not gated and easily accessible from the beach or the road. The room was spacious (beach/oceanfront on ground level), with a cooling pool on the deck. We made the best of it, and enjoyed a quiet evening listening to the waves crash, and as always in ZIhua, the sunset was amazing!
Nice place. Staff dont speak english and they dont try to learn at least the basic (few of them with 10 years). I translate for them. Like an staff you know more places to visit and things to do than a tourist. If a turist stay in my place i do my best to they enjoy. STAFF Aover there dont care about you.
There was no one there when we arrived, even though they had received a call 15 minutes before we were on the way. After nearly 1hour of waiting someone turned up without even an apolog and did not seem to care wether we were there or not. So we left and would "NEVER" return!
Relaxing. IT was nice to be away from the noise, tv, radio and everyday hassle. The ocean breeze and the crash of the ocean waves were music to my ears and food for my soul!!! WE are already making plans to go back year!
Nothing was pleasant. Staff was grumpy, pool was filthy, the design and layout of the property was a complete joke. The room we were given smelled of cat urine, linens were disgusting, cigarette butts were in the "jacuzzi", the list goes on.
We switched rooms (both with beachfront views), the second room was still terrible, but smelled slightly better. Just don't stay here, the beach is beautiful, but this property ruins the entire experience. I wouldn't stay here again if I was paid, ever.
One night was one too many.
We've traveled to Zihua for the past 9 years. Always stayed on Playa La Ropa, but no availability earlier this month. Found Casa Kau Kan on line. Traveled with another couple. Our pool view rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The pool was awesome. There was virtually no one there. The beach was stunning, though we were advised not to get in because of the waves and the under-tow. Granted they only serve breakfast (fresh squeezed OJ - pure yum) and lunch and no Wi-Fi or tv - go with the flow. The staff was very attentive, but spoke very little English - we all made it work. Would definitely go back.
Poor lighting in the room.No bathro door, so no privacy when using the toilet. The one meal we had was terrible. The location is way out of town, felt isolated.Wi Fi was poor. Great beach but they recommend you don't swim in it because of the big waves.Make sure you bring your bug spray. If your looking for peace and quite , this is the place. On a scale of one to ten we would give it a five.
Es muy tranquilo. If you're not looking for a lot of distractions, this place is perfect. No bar, no TV, just the ocean and palm trees and a pool. On a beautiful stretch of uncrowded beach a few miles from town, perfect for just lounging around. The hotel offers breakfast and lunch but no dinner. Family-style restaurants within walking distance are great, but don't stay open late. It's not hard to get into the nearby town which offers a lot of activities, like snorkeling, scuba, kayaks and catamaran rentals, etc. Excellent restaurants and some nightlife in town, including a restaurant also called Kau Kan, owned by the same owner as the hotel.
