It was very pleasant and the staff was very polite.

Beautiful place. It’s far you either need a boat ride or a very long walk from the main avenue about 20 mins

Very dated property. Facilities and amenities are worn out; bathrooms basic, shoddy and moldy; open wires in the shower to the exhaust fan.

Staff pleasant and reasonable food selection.

Not accessible by car / taxi , only by boat from nearby Ghat.

Location is only positive - directly next to the Ganges.

Given that the price is relatively expensive by even Western standards it is frankly better to pay more for a first class facility.

For the price this place is absolutely horrible. I would advise people to stay elsewhere.

This is a beautiful hotel, the building having been built in the 1700s.

antique facility renovated inside, they welcome you with a present, and have small boat service during the day to take you to and out of the hotel in case you need it, you have to contact the hotel to let them know what time are you arriving then somebody will be waiting for you at the small port, we arrange our transportation from and to the airport with the hotel to avoid any miscomunication, so when the driver pick us up at the airport he contacted the hotel and they sent the boat to the port to wait for us, you'll have first hand view of the river, and really can feel what is to be in Varanassi, being here changed my life

I booked this hotel since it's the only hotel with 4 and 1/2 stars near to Ganges River. First of all, hotel is in the worst area to get to. I found out after they provide boat service to the hotel but it's in the area nobody knows how to get to by tuk tuk. I had to drag my luggage through cow dung and spit infested streets for 20 min in 102 degree heat to get to. When I arrive, the staff told me i could arrange the boat but not apologetic at all. Also the hotel is in filthy condition. Sheets are dirty. It's in the Ganges river where it's polluted 100 times more than Indian Government level and they don't spray Mosquitoes or clean the window. Every corner is sketchy. Breakfast is the worst food, fruit juices are from can or water down. It needs to strip away the 4 and 1/2 stars to like 3 max. Hotel is also near the cremation area, so don't be surprise you run into dead bodies ready to be burn on your morning walk. The worst and I regretted so much booking this hotel.

Beautiful hotel on the Ghat. You need to walk thru the narrow lanes of Varanasi to reach here . Ask for a boat pick up when you check in as it will be difficult to walk thru the lanes with your bags - Ram ghat is the closest ghat. Call the hotel and ask for the boat pick up at rajghaat
The temple is 15 mts walk with quite a lot of steps to climb . So if you have elederly people with you , you may want consider the same
The hotel staff is very friendly and open to accommodate any of your requirements . They provide boat for the Ganga arti and rides on the Ganges . The nearest hotel/eating joint is also 15 mts Walk .
It’s a great property to stay when in Varanasi

Beautiful hotel on the ghats . Approachable only by walk or by boat call the hotel and ask for a boat on the day of the check in ... or you will end up lugging your bags thru the narrow lanes and steps !! Pick up at rajghat is the best option . If you want to enjoy the Ganges, this is the place to be . It’s about 15 mts from the Kashi viswanath temple ... quite some steps to climb before you reach the narrow lanes and the main road
Elderly people may find it tough , but this is the hotel you want to be to enjoy the Ganges

고급호텔로 보여졌으나 시설대비 관리부족. 방안에서 소똥냄새가 심하게 나서 어디서 나는지 한참 찾았으나 탐색실패. 냄새나는 숙소. 꼭대기 레스토랑 식사 괜찮았음. 배투어 택시스탑까지 배이동 등 편리하게 이동가능.

Lovely hotel ideally located for exploring the ghats of Varanasi. Definitely recommended

Accessing the hotel by road is a trouble, through narrow and dirty lanes. Though the hotel is an old heritage building right on Ganga ghat, the rooms are small. The hotel has poor services, for every request the 1st answer will be ‘NO’, for example we requested for a taxi to go to the airport 30 min before check out they didnt event try or offered an alternate, blankly refused on our face and there were many incidents like this in our 3 night stay. The hotel is overtly priced as compared to services and the product. Also the staffs attitude looks baised, they are keen in serving the forigen guests only. Will not recommend to anyone.

Travelling with my son and Granddaughter and had an amazing stay at Guleria Kothi for two nights. We were able to arrange a walking tour, evening tour to the fire celebration and a early morning sunrise tour.

The location was very good. The internet was poor in some rooms. The hotel is OK.

great hotel right on the ghats. Very friendly staff and owner is will sit with you and tell you about varanasi from a local.

We had a fantastic time at the Guleria Khoti hotel. We were so impressed by the location, right on the bank of the river Ganges and so the views from the balcony and terraces were spectacular, particularly at sunrise. The staff were extremely polite and helpful at all times, going out of their way to make you feel welcome, particularly at check in with a welcome drink and a scarf for each of us. We really liked the fact that it provided a free drop off and pick up with a boat every day, so you could explore the ghats easily and they also gave a complimentary boat trip to the aarti ceremony every evening. The food for dinner was delicious, with a range catering to most tastes. Breakfast was a little more limited and did cater more to local tastes. However, we were impressed the second morning when they provided eggs for us (we'd asked on the first morning but they hadn't had any) so it may be worth mentioning anything you'd particularly like when you check in. The room we had was clean and spacious, but it was quite close to the lift and seemed to be on the route to the restaurant so it became a little noisy early in the morning. This was only a problem the first morning as we were up with the dawn on the other days. It's worth noting that you may wish to have enough cash to cover the check out costs as their credit card machine is quite temperamental. We'd recommend this hotel if you're staying in Varanasi.
