To stay in old town Phuket is not the same expérience as being on the beach in Patong; the 2 are at least 30 minutes apart by taxi. However if you choose to stay in Old Town, this hôtel is a good option. It is well priced and near all the restaurants & activity - especially good on Sundays when there is a weekly huge night market. The hôtel building is attractive although the tiny elevator is really for luggage only so you may have to climb many stairs to reach your room. The pool is small, not particularly scenic, & we saw no body using it during our 4 day stay. Breakfast was basic, always the same, and not particularly recommended. Staff was Lovely & helpful. My one semi beef is that we were arriving early in the morning from a flight from the Middle East & I had asked for an early check in & the staff showed zéro interest or flexiblity on this so I had to book an extra night even though I got to the hotel at 10:30 am
Really beautiful hotel located in a good area of Phuket Old Town, that we can pop in and out easily to rest as we explore Phuket in hot weather.
This hotel is also not affected by the weekend night market as the entrance is beside those market.
The staffs are fantastic and are the highlight of the hotel, giving 5 star level service.
Of course the hotel does have a number of drawback as it is a historical building
- Poor soundproofing and you can hear who are the heavy-foot and when people closely their door loudly.
- hard to control water temperature
For those with mobility issue, there are steps or steep ramp to access the hotel. There is a elevator to the room but it is mostly for luggage but can be used by those who require it (wheelchair) upon request.
hotel is on the wrong side of the road so you should always alight on the opposite side and cross via traffic light to be safe.
Stayed here for 3 nights from 6 Nov and can honestly say it was the best hotel. Location is great. Hotel is spotlessly clean staff go out their way to help you and are so friendly. We didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Room was lovely and very quiet as we were looking into the pool. We couldn’t fault anything at all will definitely stay again
Stylish art deco style hotel. Well decorated individual room.
Beautiful building comfortable bed aircon worked a treat..next to the night market .. fantastic breakfast included..staff so helpful. Wish i stayed longer will stay again.
Wow! This hotel is stunning in terms of architecture, the rooms are a delight - beautiful with soft, large beds - and the reception staff make you feel like you’re at home, always welcoming you back with a smile. I didn’t want to leave.
An absolute hidden gem in the heart of Phuket old town. The room was lovely and clean, the staff simply couldn’t do enough for me as a solo traveller. Would highly recommend.
Fabulous little hidden gem of a hotel. Super easy to get everywhere in old town. Friendliest people. Pool is refreshing and relaxing. More like a bathhouse but has an open sky and privacy. Lovely place, I would send friends there without hesitation.
This hotel is an ideal base to explore old town Phuket. It's a comfortable hotel with clean and tidy rooms, with the one we had overlooking the small pool. The staff are very friendly and helpful and even allowed us to store some bags for our few day visit to Phi Phi. Definitely recommend.
Very good location and helpful people
One night stay, so we pretty much only slept here.
Rooms are clean and equipped with the usual bits and pieces, that said they the rooms are small, at least our was and we didn’t book the smallest!
If you want to be in the heart of the Old Town then the location is perfect, we weren’t disturbed by any street noise but we were overlooking the pool so at the rear of the building.
One very odd thing, the bathroom bin was open without a lid, not really very pleasant when you’re specifically asked not to flush toilet paper down the toilet (completely normal, no issue with this), then I think a tight fitting lid is really necessary.
Hotel arranged an early morning airport transfer for 700 baht.
The place was wonderful, location brilliant. I cannot say enough about how wonderful, friendly, kind and helpful all the staff are.
They went above and beyond anything that I have ever experienced with a hotel. They organised the perfect excursions we were hoping for, and when the first ones they tried were full or not operating, they kept working to find all solutions. As a result, I am so grateful that my 15 year old son and I have had the perfect time here and in Phuket.
Casa Blanca has my highest recommendation.
Very well located in the heart of Old Town Phuket and withiin easy walking distance of all restaurants, shops and attractions in the area. A perfect place if you wish to experience this interesting, fun, and lively location.
Excellent staff and lovely hotel
Highly recommend for someone who wants to be away from the super busy area but still able to enjoy the city of old town
Very pretty hotel with a nice atmosphere and lovely spacious rooms. Situated in the middle of the old town with many nice restaurants, shops and sights as well as the Sunday night market just outside the door. The staff were all extremely sweet and helpful. They helped us with a taxi trip twice, and we had the best driver. The only small downside was the breakfast which was quite plain. But no problem - there are lovely cafés nearby. We can highly recommend this hotel!
A lovely quirky hotel in the old part of Phuket, ideally located for exploring the area.
Rooms are functional (but we didn’t have any hot water for a shower one afternoon) and I personally didn’t find the bed very comfy.
Breakfast was mediocre but filled a hole.
Staff were very nice, polite and courteous.
Excellent location, opulent Portuguese decor and bonus of a small pool to dip into after the hot day sun. Yes the front facing rooms are noisy but you’re in a vibrant town and if all quite a down by 11pm, bring your ear plugs ( or reception provide them too).
The lively bar/ restaurant across the road is the main reason for the noise but we actually enjoyed the music and sat on the balcony to listen to:)
We ate in Day & Night which is a few minutes walk away and would recommend- one of our best meals so far
We didn’t have breakfast- lots of options locally
I picked this for the access to the Walking market and wasn’t disappointed! The market is fabulous but super hot and busy so we didn’t it in two halves; we were so close we could come back to the room for some cool and our feet up for a bit then headed back out again! Best market I’ve ever been and we ate our way around the various food stalls.
If it’s useful a taxi from the ferry pier is about 400 thb ( grab) but then from the town to Kata around 580 thb and that’s a good half an hour so seems the ferry pick up is city prices. I loved the old town so much to do and spoilt for choice for restaurants. Staff at the Casa blanca were very professional and helpful. The bed was super comfortable and rooms very clean.
The hotel had a very special design, but I didn't feel it offered much added value beyond that. For example, there were no hot water in the sink. Some staff were very nice, but others didn't understand much English. The continental breakfast is very modest. Also, note a lot of the nice public spaces you see in the pictures are not actually that inviting when you're back at the hotel in the evenings
Still, the hotel has good location in Phuket Town, nice decoration and comfortable rooms
I've been here a few times now and would love to come back. And that's why: There's this absolutely central location in this beautiful old town, which stands out from the hectic hustle and bustle on the beaches and Patong. The hotel is located a few meters from the Sunday market – a major asset. You can practically go from the market to bed in minutes. The service and friendliness of the staff is unsurpassable. The hotel manager Sarah who is present is a treasure and helps in all situations. The rooms are sensationally clean and spacious.
On the annoying topic of the street-facing rooms, which are proven to be a bit noisy: I can live with that. There you also have a romantic balcony. And since I sleep deeply and peacefully, I will always book the nicer side. By the way, earplugs can be requested at reception. If you want peace and quiet, simply book a room on the courtyard side - there are nice rooms here too and the same super service. Absolutely recommended – I’ll be back!
