The character and history
Nothing
Lovely old building. Full of character and apparently a resident ghost on level 2 if you're interested in that type of thing. Full size bath in the room without paying extra.
The food menu was a little small. Curry of the day was a sweet potato curry which I declined. Would of been interested in something more mainstream like Chicken Korma, butter chicken beef madras etc. the elevator was a pain but this is a heritage listed building.
I don't eat big breakfasts, The toast, spreads and coffee was just right.
The little courtyard view from the dining room, the chandeliers and the glass roof, all very attractive.
The bed was a tiny bit hard, Room 127, but the fittings, the beautiful decore, everything was excellent.
As a woman travelling alone, it was nice to have a single bed in an attractive room. I felt I belonged.
Its age
We were relegated to aback room, a long way from the lift. One of the bedside lights didn’t work, there was no ironing board etc.
Staff, food, great.
Nothing. Stay number four. Never disappointed
Confirmed booking for 2 sinlge beds
At check in , this confirmed arrangement was denied
Great location, love the old world style with classic old lift. Pleasant dining area, reception very friendly and helpful.
The shower over the bath needed a non slip mat for added safety.
Quaint and quiet
History of the building
Too many stairs
Everything. The staff was very friendly and efficient.
Love the old charm. Dining facilities. Lounge areas.
Staff were all too happy to assist as needed.
As a solo traveller, while dining etc, I didn’t feel rushed. Some venues I find try to rush smaller bookings in preference to bigger groups. At Craig’s this wasn’t the case.
Stairs!!! There was a lift but was a bit old and clunky. Ok to use stairs without luggage. But I did use the lift when I couldn’t find the remainder of the stairs to go up to level 2 from level 1!!
