We will be back.
Pros:

The hotel exceeded our expectations.
Check-in and all staff we encountered couldn't have been more helpful, courtliest, and nothing was any trouble.
Thanks to their parking facilities our vehicle couldn't have been safer .

Cons:

Would have liked more than one accessible power point that was in the bathroom, and that's it.

Beautiful grand-old style renovated goldfields hotel
Pros:

What a fabulous "grand old style" regional hotel! While the decor fits with the 19th century design of the building, I did not expect a 4-poster bed with ornate wooden carvings and beautiful period-style wardrobe and drawers! It was absolutely beautiful! I didn't want to mess up the bed as everything just looked picture perfect! (And yet it still had modern amenities like central climate control!). The bathroom was generously sized with a fantastic rain shower head, and beautiful porcelain sink. I loved reading about the history of the hotel's founding in the goldrush days, and walking around the entrance lobby to see the styling and memorial plaques. The location was an easy walking distance from the train station and opposite the Majestic Theatre. I didn't eat at the restaurant or try breakfast (was doing things around Ballarat), but for my next trip to Ballarat I know where I'll be staying!

Cons:

Check-in was a little slow (behind a couple who seemed to have a lot of questions). The lift is very small and old - I used the stairs but the staircases between ground and second floor don't meet up so you do have to hunt a little to get to the 2nd floor rooms!
