Clean, friendly staff, beautiful rooms

The public rooms were rather austere and the dining room particularly so, which is a shame as the food was good. Breakfast staff were very casual and not totally engaged with what they were doing.
My room was nice and cosy. The bed was really comfy. The surrounding of the hotel floor was very quite which allowed me to have couple of peaceful nights.
Location is pretty central and close to a lot of nice restaurants.

Not enough car spots , needs to do better with the up keep of the room.
The hotel and facilities were lovely
The room was unbearably hot. I turned down the radiator and turned the heating off but the room was too warm for comfort.
My room opened out onto a courtyard and was very convenient for access to the restaurant and my car.
It would have been nice to have a thick curtain between the bedroom and the large bathroom. I felt the space was too large and sleep was not the best.
The old period charm.
They had a party booked on a Sunday night and the music was booming in our room. We had a long hard day and just wanted to get some sleep.
For such a historic property was surprised the receptionist was a bit blasé. Quite young,we booked in after 2.30 and our room wasn’t ready.
The hotel is an old building. The building is marvellous and really looks the part. Parking facilities were good and reasonably secure. The staff were pleasant and well uniformed. The location was very good, right in the heart of Ballarat.
The room was very small (we had a basic twin room). Meals were of excellent quality but the size of a small entree. Also quite expensive, as were drinks.
The staff had good uniforms but, little case with regard to clean footwear or pressing.
Historic hotel from gold rush days. Pure luxury at a reasonable rate. Traditional furnishings with up-to-the minute fittings. The bathroom was amazing.
The restaurant is also very good ; everyone left with compliments to the chef and wait staff.

Beautiful old building, wonderful bar and dining. The staff are friendly and the hotel is clean and well appointed.
The bedroom and bathroom were a great size but the mattress was just too firm, and I like a firm mattress
