The bed is comfortable
The hotel had no room service. The room had no view. The only view we had was the walkways. We expected more for what we paid for. We only got 2 bottles of drinking water on the 1st day. They didn't give us any drinking water after that. Room was not properly cleaned
Good location in Calistoga
My husband and I recently spent over $1,700 for a two-night stay in the King Retro Classic Camper Studio, expecting a premium, relaxing boutique experience. Instead, we were met with a series of structural, cleanliness, and service failures that are completely unacceptable at this price point.
Room & Cleanliness Issues:
Pests: Our first assigned room had a live cockroach in it, forcing an immediate room change.
Maintenance Failures: The toilet in our second room broke, forcing my husband to reach into the tank with his bare hand to fix it. Additionally, the shower constantly dripped water, and the carpet throughout the room looked incredibly worn and dirty.
Lack of Comfort: The table that converts into a bed was stiff, unforgiving, and highly uncomfortable.
Check-in Chaos & Security Concerns:
When we went to enter our second room, the door opened to a staff member who was not housekeeping. She immediately started screaming at me, saying, "This room isn't ready, I told them it's not ready!" It was incredibly jarring. When we asked management about it, their story kept changing—first claiming she was removing a crib, then claiming she was removing "honeymoon items" like champagne. The lack of transparency and the aggression from staff was highly unprofessional.
Property Amenities:
The entire property felt severely understaffed. Trying to enjoy the facilities was an exercise in patience; it took a full 20 minutes just to order and receive a single drink.
For the premium price this lodge commands, guests should expect luxury, or at the very least, basic cleanliness, working plumbing, and polite staff. We left incredibly disappointed and will not be returning.
We enjoyed staying at the Lodge with our group of 17. There were plenty of spaces to gather and enjoy our time together. The staff was friendly and sccomodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Clean room, good room design, nice TV, close to Calistoga main street, nice restaurant for breakfast
Jacuzzi didn't work, room door didn't open/close normally ( it taak many time to close / open it), in a bathroom there tiny room for bathroom staff
La atención de las personas
Very serene grounds with awesome pools and a dining experience that is an absolute treat - the mozz, tomato, foccacia sandwich was amazing. We stayed with our toddler and felt totally welcomed the entire time.

The property was very pretty and well tended.
The staff was very friendly and terrific.
We stayed in one of the older rooms. The hot water in sink wasn’t working and shower had poor water pressure with no hot water. We called front desk and they promptly sent maintenance to take care of it.
Later in the stay we noticed some other things in the room - the table for eating was loose and moving around and off balance for eating.
When we walked along the bike path out front we noticed tall weeds in front of the property. We weren’t sure if the city maintains that area but it looks a little bad.
One other small thing - our room was on the end of the property. Both nights there was someone rolling trash cans by our room at 2 am. Maybe trash can go out earlier or don’t roll it right in front of rooms?
Choose your timing and you may fare better than we did. This is a lovely renovated space and we loved our room and little balcony. But the mineral water pool areas which are marketed as part of the "mineral hot springs/spa" feel was absolutely crawling with children giving it more of a "water park" feel than "mineral water spa" feel. The hot tub had at least 6 kids in at all times, despite the sign for minimum age of 18. - There is an adult pool section but it's pool is the coldest of the 4 pools, so not great unless the day is quite warm. The adult pool is a long walk from the other pools so you can't pop in to a warmer pool then retreat easily to the adult area. (This might help.) I was looking forward to a relaxing afternoon of time in the pools, reading, maybe soaking in the hot tub, but the afternoon was a bust on that front. The actual spa was already booked so that retreat option was not available - Lovely dinner in the attached restaurant (again, a few crying kids didn't help but that wasn't the fault of the restaurant). And a great smores pit and patio vibe. But again...clearly a family resort at least this week. (Spring Break?)
The pools were very relaxing and the day beds were nice to lay out. Loved how kid friendly this place is. The restaurant on the property was excellent some of the best pizza and pasta!
The chosen plants around the pool let off a lot of pollen and debris so it made for a lot of floaters in the water.
We had a wonderful stay. Don't be dissuaded by the name Motor Lodge it is a gorgeous facility. Quentin and Alex at the front desk are amazing and every recommendation they made was spot on and super helpful, friendly and professional. The Fleetwood restaurant on site is one of the best meals we had. We enjoyed a wonderful massage at the spa . We will definitely return and highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!
Location is great.
Staff was fantastic.
Floor in our room was wet when it rained and squeeked loudly. Walls are thin we could hear our neighbors and their dogs.
Pools were crowded at all times.
Lots of kids under 18 in the jacuzzi.
Food in the restaurant was overpriced.
Service was outstanding. Prime location a short walk from downtown. Great food and amenities, especially enjoyed the thermal hot tub. Room was nicely designed and comfy but a bit noisy next to the AC compressors.
Great location and the hotel staff were amazing! Food was great too.
Staff helped with anything we needed or found the right person to help. They all exceeded expectations.
Your staff was amazing and so accommodating. Thak you so much for a wonderful experience. The food was delicious. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend Calistoga Motor lodge ..
I had an amazing WPO retreat at this hotel. The food was incredible and the chef even did a private pasta making class for the 20 of us and was very patient and accommodating. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable.
