Pros:

Breathtaking Location, Warm Staff – But Needs Improvement in Comfort and Value

Jiva Baluam is set in a truly stunning location nestled in a secluded bay with a private beach that feels like your own paradise. The natural beauty is overwhelming, and the bungalows are located right on the sand. It’s a place where you can fully disconnect and enjoy nature.

However, the resort is very remote – there are no alternative dining options within 30 minutes, so you’re fully dependent on the in-house restaurant. Unfortunately, the food quality doesn’t justify the high prices. The Indonesian breakfast (like Nasi Goreng) was okay, but the Western breakfast was quite disappointing in both taste and presentation.

The resort has been around for over ten years and is beginning to show signs of age. Some renovations would definitely enhance the guest experience. The bungalows are charming, but not well-equipped: there’s no fridge, which is a real downside given the isolation, especially since cold drinks from the restaurant are very expensive. Also, there’s no kettle – as an early riser, I found it frustrating that I couldn’t have tea or coffee until the restaurant opened at 8 a.m.

On the bright side, the staff are wonderfully kind and helpful, and the WiFi is excellent surprisingly strong for such a remote location.

In summary, Jeeva Baluam offers a magical natural setting and warm hospitality, but it would benefit greatly from thoughtful upgrades and a more guest-friendly infrastruct,

Calme, proche de la pink beach
Pros:

Experience..
Pros:

We have booked the facility for two nights but we only stayed for one night for the following reasons:
Hygiene: we found big rats in the room.
Location: very romoted and far from the city, it is actualy in the jungle.
Amenities: The electricity is on only for specific hours in the day which makes it very hard to enjoy your stay.
Food: very limited options with small portions and overpriced.
NB: after seeing the rats everywhere we lost appetite anyways.
However, the staff are very kind and friendly but they are not available after 10pm.
Safety: the area is full of snakes, monkeys, pigs, and street dogs which makes is it impossible to go for a walk or just to leave the room to enjoy the beach; the beach is not safe to swim ; we basically stayed in the room till next day and left immediately.

Two nights vacation
Pros:

We recommend this resort to anyone wishing to find some relaxing time in lovely surroundings. A great location, choose to stay and chill around the resort and private beach or just a short ride to other amenities. The accommodation is clean and spacious and very comfortable. The staff are outstanding and Dini goes beyond her role to make everyone happy, such wonderful genuine hospitality. We will certainly be going back here in the future !! 😊

Un angolo di paradiso in cui tornare
Pros:

Couple on Tour
Pros:

My partner and I stayed for three nights during our tour through Indonesia for a month. The food was outstanding and the staff very welcoming, friendly and always pleased to assist in anyway.

We did find that even though it's advertised as an "adults only resort" children were present. We have children ourselves, but It's a very couples type of environment so I'm not sure why anyone would want to bring their children there with couples honeymooning and others wanting a romantic place to go.

We did do all the activities and enjoyed them all from trekking, sunset at pink beach-two to snorkelling and kayaking at the other pink beach.

It's also worth checking that both transfers are included. We booked through hotels.com and only received a one-way transfer even though the Jeeva site says transfers are included. They said it was because we used hotels.com and it only includes one-way. This was unfortunate as I thought both came with our package and being it's in such a remote location, I believe both should be included.

All in all we really enjoyed our stay and even though it's expensive, you see where your money's going, fabulous food and staff. We would stay again for sure and I'd recommend it for couples wanting a romantic escape or honeymoon, not ideal for children and check the transfers.

Relaxing
Pros:

Our stay at the hotel was very nice, we enjoyed the room and service, it was very relaxing. We missed having wifi as we could not respond to any urgent email, otherwise we liked Jeeva Beloam very much, the staff is very friendly and the room is spacious, bed is very comfortable.

Small paradise on Earth
Pros:

This was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. This hotel is not your average hotel by any means. When they say remote... it is remote. Once you arrive to Lombok airport, you will have to travel approximately 120 minutes by dirt road to arrive to the property, but once there... relax is the word to describe. There I only 11 villas ( I would highly encourage to get either Villa 10 or 11. They have the best view and most privacy, but they are the ones furthest away from the restaurant). Every villa has direct access to the beach.... and its fantastic... white sand, turquoise water and waves (which I like).

Overall a place not to be missed. As I said.. one of the best places I've stayed. If you want to relax and reconnect.. go for it.. if you are looking to party, restaurants, and nightlife.... go to Bali.

Total relaxation....leave the kids at home
Pros:

Amazing room – fantastic view, and only the waves hitting the beach to listen to.

If you want somewhere to de-stress, this is the place - nothing to do but chill out (no phones, no tv, no wifi). Lovely white(ish) sand beach, fantastic food, great staff.

Wouldn’t recommend swimming for kids/weaker swimmers but the staff were always careful to keep a look out. Snorkelling within the bay is fantastic, so long as you are a decent swimmer. We went rainy season, when the weather is a bit patchy but the waves are I am told a bit smaller – they must be quite big in the dry season!

When the resort (loose term) only 11 lovely detached bungalows was empty, the service was world class. When it got busy, portion sizes and service became a little less good. In general, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Its pricey but we’d love to go back again.

The road to the resort is fine and was being improved whilst we were there, what I would say is that all our flights were delayed – I wouldn’t recommend having tight connections in the rainy season (like we did and ended up missing our first night at Jeeva).

Resort only for nature and adventure lovers
Pros:

We booked the resort due to the good reviews, after the long drive to Jeeva Beloam, including about 1.5h of the road were rocky roads, which made travelling slow on these roads. The resort is good for people who love the nature, love a bit of adventure, not afraid of insects. This is because there are only 11 rooms there and during our stay only one other room was occupied and also because the location is so secluded you are totally cut off from the outside world. The sound of the waves were thundery loud. The room is very basic, only that the generator were on for a certain period of time only making it a bit inconvient. The air con did not made the room cold at night. The food were in the package during the stay, food quality was ok. Staffs were very helpful throughout our stay and as we decided to transfer to Jeeva Klui the next day because we were not used to the living condition here. We were transferred to Jeeva Klui promptly and efficiently. Do consider the living condition before making a booking at this hotel so that you can skip the 1.5h ride on the rocky/bumpy roads. Jeeva Klui had awesome service and great rooms right on the beach. It was like treated like royals during our stay there, which we enjoyed very much.

Getting away from it all
Pros:

Excellent service, incredible food and breathtaking setting. Just be prepared that this is off the grid so there is not 24 hour electricity, there is only one restaurant and it takes ages on very bad roads to get anywhere.

What an experience
Pros:

Well, if you decide to stay here be prepared for an experience like few others, both positive.....you get to spend quality time with the one you love in a peaceful remote environment . And negative, it's a new hotel, with what seems like a budget that doesn't extend very far.....3 kayaks, continually running out of food options , no written information on the resort in the rooms... The staff are friendly and do the best they can which is lovely, possibly a bit of training could be in order to see that what you order actually comes to the table rather than some of what you order. Although we thoroughly enjoyed the enthusiasm and service of Jae, some other wait staff seemed to struggle with basics. The room is cleaned well, although under the bed was full of dust. An open dining area is ok as it is a beach camp, although I would have preferred less insects climbing in my food. Overall I would love to go again, but only if it has improved in these respects.

Beautiful property in a great location.
Pros:

This is a very new resort. There are 11 simple but very comfortable separate Berugahs -sort of like small villas with a big covered balcony with day bed and lounges, enclosed bedroom with big king bed and partially open bathroom at the back with good shower and storage space. The accommodation is all very private. The property is as beautiful as it looks in the photos on the website with a great private beach surrounded by lush green hills. Beach good to swim in December but a bit of rain each afternoon. Quite simple only facilities an open restaurant with spa almost finished. Has massage and activities but bet description is a luxury beach camp. No tv or wifi or internet. Only sound in evenings the waves breaking very relaxing.
