Nice staff, old rooms, not what you’d expect of a Mercure
Pros:

Coffee in the restaurant was good

Cons:

Rooms very small and dated. Main wall of the bedroom was full length glass the opened onto outside hallway and stairs so blinds needed to stay closed for privacy. Quite strange .

Was fine for a one night stay but would not recommend for longer stays
Pros:

Staff were friendly, plenty of street parking, bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The ensuite counter was so very small and the close proximity to the toilet made the bathroom set up very awkward, making it okay for one night stay but not ideal for longer stays. Also missing some basic amenities normal found in a four star hotel e.g. a box of tissues. I was also woken at 7.15am by the sound of a rattle gun/drill from maintenance work in progress somewhere in the hotel.

Great location
Pros:

We made a last minute booking here as we like the location opposite City Park. I’m Accor gold so we got an upgrade to a nice park view room on the top floor. The rooms are not large but comfortable and we loved the Cradle Mountain frieze over the bed. The bathroom is small but nicely renovated. Great water pressure and nice toiletries.

Really excellent stay, and highly recommended
Pros:

Great location, lovely room, comfortable bed (& pillow). Excellent value for money and really lovely, friendly staff.

Cons:

My only complaint was the iron (the preset button timer is very short), and ironing board, which kept collapsing.

quite satisfactory overall
Cons:

The showering area is poorly designed it being difficult to prevent water from splashing excessively into the general bathroom floor space, creating an unsafe slippery area
