U Tropicana Alibaug

1. Food - Excellent Local Cuisine, the staff is local and it was one of the best authentic (in fact wouldn't be a stretch if I called it best Kolambi Bhath and Kombdi Vade - I have had, I don't know what the magic was the Kolambi Bhath was amazing consistency - neither too wet and sticky like khichdi or dry like Biriyani - IT WAS JUST PERFECT !!!!! - The prawns were cooked to perfection - most people make it rubbery - it was just right, soft juicy without any of the fishy after taste) - in addition to this a great Buffet Spread, Great chefs cooking up delicious dishes, Great VALUE for money

2. The people - The staff and our experience has been so great , thanks to the following people (if I have missed anyone pls excuse) and a few photos
The best part was the Excellent food (local cuisine like Kolambi Bhath and Kombdi Vade), and sense of hospitality of the dining room staff and all the chefs, overall the the staff was excellent in all departments (check-in, pool, room-cleaning) but the stand-out was the dining room staff - they were working almost entire day - 3 meals and did everything with outmost care, attention and warmth - and their sense if going beyond duty was great,

Standout team members were Janhavi (dining room) and Abhijit (from Captain Cook's bar) - both are stand-out topper & Budding Chef Sai (of Kombdi Vade fame :) )

Apart from this all the team members were hard working and I interacted with a lot of team members who were very helpful and always ready with warm service - special mention - Vignesh, Ramila, Ajay & Kalpesh - Vignesh was terrific ......All the chefs were spectacular - I talked to all of them and got their views - Chef Subhash, Chef Rahul, Chef Surendra, Chef Sai (winning our hearts with spectacular Kombi Vade), Chef Rohit, Chef Jagadeesh (armed with the terrific Bread Pakodas)

All these guys are tirelessly working with such attention to detail and caring and warmth. I really am very grateful to these guys for ensuring that we are taken care of. A big thanks to all of you for making our visits special.

A word to my fellow Travelers, please be kind and patient, pls remember - the staff is on their feet for 12-14 hour shifts, running around to make our stay comfortable, it takes a lot. A small appreciation and smile goes a long way.

3. Rooms - Room Cleaning - There was one lady - I did not get her name (Very very impressed with her sense of dedication and attention to detail)

4. Location - Roads are not so great, but Great Resort Maintenance and upkeep - although its little old now and rooms were smelling musty, one of the rooms had a damp smell and I suspect the AC vent water was not draining - we once had the same issue in home ac and this was exact smell - BUT staff is still very active and resort maintenance is good

5. Safety - well managed and all aspects of safety taken care of esp. people travelling with kids

6. Predictability - flawless execution by staff from Start to finish, Club Mahindra Quality

7. User experience - the user experience part is beyond expectations. During holidays people have so high expectations of a flawless experience that even a minor hitch can lead to a sense of dissatisfaction, so far in my experience - has not happened anywhere - kudos to the staff.

Dining room gets crowded in peak hours, so go early and enjoy a relaxed meal, staff is also not rushed and will be able to cater better

The only minor issue we faced was Pool was a little crowded because of corporate bookings and people were not following pool regulations and they were not listening to staff at all , even though pool staff tried their best.

*Excellent venue for reunions and group events*
We hosted our 50th class reunion at Tropicana Resort, Alibaug, and the experience was outstanding. The resort is green, spacious, and very well maintained, making it ideal for large group gatherings. Rooms were comfortable, food was consistently excellent, and the arrangements for music, AC hall, and beach visit were seamless.
The staff was courteous, efficient, and always helpful. Special appreciation to the resort manager for his personal involvement and smooth coordination, which allowed us to enjoy the reunion without any worries.
Highly recommended for reunions, celebrations, and corporate or family group events.

Overall experience was very good. Staff is very polite and welcoming. Housekeeping services by Madhavi and Suraj for our room was very good.

Sachin was very helpful at dinning place. Courteous staff. Good property, earlier Tropicana now taken over by Club Mahindra. Lively and well lit up for Christmas.

If I have to review in two words: Not recommended. It is just not recommended due to multi layered reasons.

1. They are charging as much as Radisson or Novotel or Taj. The services and maintenance of the property is not even nearby to them
2. ⁠We booked the property directly and not through any partner website and still lot of information wasn’t provided
3. ⁠It’s a big property but no mode of transport for travel within the property. No provisions at all for the elderly
4. ⁠They sell you the room category which is the norm. But they don’t mention that the main property rooms are only for club Mahindra members and not for the general public
5. ⁠All the rooms are in 2 storeyed buildings but there is no lift. They did not bother to mention this at the time of booking.
6. ⁠Executive rooms are in villa which are far away from all the amenities and again no provision for going to and fro
7. ⁠They offered us a meal package of Rs. 14000 for 4 meals for 2 people which is definitely expensive. Although this can be saved altogether thanks to Zomato
8. ⁠Rooms are not as clean and maintained. House keeping and room service takes forever with at least 2-3 follow up calls. Attaching dirty floor n broken drawer images which is not yet attended to.

Due to this smaller but high impacting reasons they have actually spoiled the holiday mood as my mom who is almost 70 is unable to walk and climb stairs. They aren’t trying to accommodate anything even though we tried reasoning out that mom has had knee surgery and it will be difficult for her. We weren’t informed earlier about it . Yes writing the review while at the property as that’s all we could do after this experience. We don’t have a choice for finding an alternative.

When you are charging at par with the best in the industry, the services also needs to be there or else ur just looting people of their money.

It’s been an absolutely great experience being at the Alibagh club Mahindra property. From amenities to food to staff, everyone has been super helpful making our experience the best! Recommended you try this one!

Recently stayed for the first time with Tropicana Resort at Alibaug which is a decent hotel around half an hour drive from Mandwa jetty. We stayed in deluxe room and room was spacious with direct access to pool and food spread was good with very limited option of starters in veg. (only 1 starter) though service at restaurant during dinner & breakfast was excellent as staff was very nice and cooperative. Stay can be better if the room was serviced properly at check-in as basic amenities were not placed in the room like water bottles, sleepers, toilet roll, hand towels, tooth paste etc , swimming pool was very dirty & insects and dirt was floating with us, no one picks the phone at reception as we could not able to log in with the password announced to us at check-in and they gave different password later and also coffee (cappuccino) at the restaurant was very very bitter and we could not able to drink. Reception staff lacks empathy & professionalism as we asked for water bottles from the bell boy who escorted us but he did not send the water bottles too for which we have to wait for 45 mns with senior citizen & kid and also room phone wire was coming out again & again and we have to struggle with the fan which works with the remote. Overall the stay was good.

We had a very restful family stay at Club Mahindra Tropicana Resort in December. Our room was located right next to the pool, which turned out to be a big highlight- especially for the kids, who spent a lot of time enjoying it during our stay.

The food was tasty and well prepared, and the staff throughout the resort were courteous and welcoming. A special mention to the chefs, Mr. Rana and Mr. Akshay Naravane, who showed great attention to detail and were very mindful of our family’s dietary needs. Their personal touch really enhanced our dining experience.

One area where the resort could improve is the availability of family-oriented activities. Compared to other Club Mahindra resorts, the options here felt limited, and adding more structured activities for families and kids would be a welcome enhancement.

Overall, it was a calm, comfortable, and restful stay with the family, and we left feeling relaxed and well taken care of.

We visited Eat restaurant for dinner. The ambience was amazing! . The staff was very kind and humble specially Manager Kalpesh and Sachin. We went for buffet though there is A la cart as well. The Indian cuines was truely amazing and up to the mark and was prepared by Chef. Aditya Must Visit!!!

Good location and atmosphere is very friendly. Food is amazing. Chef Akshay and Chef Sanil did a great job. Kalpesh and Sachin are very friendly and make the food experience very enjoyable and comfortable. Surmai taste was delicious.

Was a pleasure dinning at the restaurant food was made to suit our dietary requirements was non spicy and cooked to perfection was served piping hot . Chef Akshay made sure we had a delectable meal .The staff was t attentive and service was top notch.
