El hotel el muy lindo y tiene muy buenas instalaciones y cerca del centro
Dos cosas que podrían mejorar son la conexión del wi fi que va y viene y la humedad de la habitación…quizás deberían poner extractor en el baño …
We really enjoyed our stay and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel was comfortable and the service was good.
The only downside was that our room did not have a view, and we felt the price was quite high considering that.
Gorgeous property with many levels and views. Easy to find and check in fast.

Last but not least- de auto parkeren op eigen terrein. Echt een aanrader.
Weinig keus aan eten bij de Beachbar.
The location of this hotel is breathtaking, and the staff are professional and extremely friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed yet polished. The bathing platform has a beach bar and access to a safe sea bathing areas. It's a ten-minute flat walk into the centre.
We also had some fabulous meals at the hotel restaurant with wonderful service and incredible views over the bay. The sunset around 8pm was truly spectacular! The maitre d' Luigi ensures everything is extra special. Also Teresa at breakfast always greeted us with a smile and our favourite drinks. Also Luigi was great and also helped me to learn a little Italian. Also Angelo, Francisco and Raffaella in the bar were fantastic as we're Mario and Vittonio who worked at the beach bar. The hotel is fabulous but it's the staff who made it extra special for us.
Sorrento capped off our family's two week Italy trip and we were happy that we stayed at the Grand Hotel Riviera. We stayed at 4 and 5 star hotels in Venice, Florence and Rome and while aspects of this hotel are a little dated we were able to look past them.
The good:
-staff was generally excellent. we felt like a valued guest with the lobby staff always saying hello and asking how our stay was going.
-location is great. being right on the coast the view are stunning. It was maybe a 10 minute flat walk to the downtown area, which suited us just fine (btw a taxi is 20 EUR for about a 3 minute ride).
-the common areas were all very nicely appointed and updated
-the restaurant food and staff were excellent. Throughout our stay we had used it at times for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
-pool and ocean area were nice. We liked being able to access either area. While each area got busy at times in the mid to late afternoon we didn't have a problem getting seats together at either. The ocean area was neat with having the protected swimming area along with floats/noodles to use along with pool attendants to help and ice cream available to buy for a few EUR.
-it was very hot outside and the AC in the room worked great.
The area for improvement:
-the room was a little dated compared to the other 4 and 5 star hotel we stayed at in Italy. I expected it so it wasn't an issue for us but still something to call out. We specifically stayed in a family room which had a common area with two individual beds along with a separate bedroom and bathroom. In the bedroom was also the door to connect to another room. What I really didn't like about it is that the door was thin and a single door (not a door in that room and a door in our room that both closed) so we could pretty clearly hear people in the other room as well as light easily came through from their room. The bathroom had very little counterspace which is a challenge for a family of four.
Despite what I said above we still really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.
Just returned from an amazing week holiday at this fantastic hotel. We highly recommend the swimming pool, sea pontoon and everything about this hotel. It’s 10 minutes walk from the Centre of Sorrento to lots of restaurants. The staff are so friendly and go the extra mile to make your stay remarkable, the bar staff remember your favourite tipple/coffee which is a nice touch. We will definitely return to Sorrento and this hotel will be our first choice again.
I don’t understand why this hotel is 4 star. Its location, staff, service, food, cleanliness, ambience is 5 star plus. We stayed for our 10th anniversary and we had our honeymoon here 10 years ago. It was special then and special again this trip.
The staff are all smiling and cannot do enough for you, without exception
This must be the best hotel in Sorrento !
We definitely won’t wait another 10 years before returning. Thank you Grand Hotel Riviera for lovely memories.

The location is breathtaking, the staff professional and courteous. The atmosphere is relaxed yet polished. The bathing platform accesses safe sea bathing areas and has a beach bar. Cocktails on the terrace are a treat and the food is good. This is our second stay and we’ll be back. Faultless. Guests are a mix of families and couples. Nothing is too much for the team of staff. A rare treat of a place.
We stayed at this hotel in June 2026 for our honeymoon and had the best experience.
The hotel is only a short walk in Piazza Tasso (Main Square), which made it convenient for afternoon walks and finding a restaurant for dinner.
The breakfast offer is excellent - you won’t leave hungry. You can even sit on the balcony and enjoy the view of the Sorrento coast line!
The hotel offers a relaxing pool with plenty of sun beds to chose from, or you can even go down to the ‘Beach Club’ where you can lie in the sun and go for a swim in the sea.
The staff in the hotel were excellent - so polite, friendly and happy to help. A special shout out to the guys that work across the F&B team, you can tell how hard they are working!
Brilliant stay and would definitely come back
I have to make a comment regarding last night's thunderstorm, the kitchen staff, waiting and bar staff worked their socks off accommodating everyone who arrived unannounced, finding tables and still keeping dinner service up to its high standards as usual, you guys all deserve medals and appreciation, thank you.
We just returned from a trip to Sorrento and we stayed at the Grand Hotel Riviera. We had a great time there. The views were amazing! They have a private beach club that was so nice to have and great area to swim. My favorite part was the breakfast buffet. It was so good!! And the staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed seeing Theresa every morning over a cappuchino.
Location was also good for us. It is about a 12 min very easy walk from the hotel to the main center of Sorrento. We really liked that it was not in the center of everything. It is so crowded in the center of town that it was really nice that the hotel was in a quieter area.
