We stayed at this hotel in June 2026 for our honeymoon and had the best experience.
The hotel is only a short walk in Piazza Tasso (Main Square), which made it convenient for afternoon walks and finding a restaurant for dinner.
The breakfast offer is excellent - you won’t leave hungry. You can even sit on the balcony and enjoy the view of the Sorrento coast line!
The hotel offers a relaxing pool with plenty of sun beds to chose from, or you can even go down to the ‘Beach Club’ where you can lie in the sun and go for a swim in the sea.
The staff in the hotel were excellent - so polite, friendly and happy to help. A special shout out to the guys that work across the F&B team, you can tell how hard they are working!
Brilliant stay and would definitely come back
I have to make a comment regarding last night's thunderstorm, the kitchen staff, waiting and bar staff worked their socks off accommodating everyone who arrived unannounced, finding tables and still keeping dinner service up to its high standards as usual, you guys all deserve medals and appreciation, thank you.
We just returned from a trip to Sorrento and we stayed at the Grand Hotel Riviera. We had a great time there. The views were amazing! They have a private beach club that was so nice to have and great area to swim. My favorite part was the breakfast buffet. It was so good!! And the staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed seeing Theresa every morning over a cappuchino.
Location was also good for us. It is about a 12 min very easy walk from the hotel to the main center of Sorrento. We really liked that it was not in the center of everything. It is so crowded in the center of town that it was really nice that the hotel was in a quieter area.
Las habitaciones , la piscina , la vista

Home now after spending 14 nights at this amazing hotel. It's one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Hotel is in a fantastic location, about 15 minutes walk from main centre. Views from public areas across the Bay of Naples are outstanding. Fantastic having breakfast on the terrace with these views. Plenty of choices for breakfast. We had one evening meal at the hotel which was equally very enjoyable. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area without doing the walk into main town which in our opinion added to the overall enjoyment of our holday. Added bonus was the hotel's private Lido/Beach Club, staff there were amazing and very attentive as were all staff throughout the hotel.
Recently had a wonderful few days at this hotel. All of the staff were friendly and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We were looked after extremely well. The views from the breakfast and dining terraces over the Bay were fabulous and the food delicious. The room was great.
La vista è superlativa e la posizione comoda. Ottima Colazione e cena in camera. Staff gentile e pronto ad esaudire le nostre richieste
Arredamento un po vintage. La prima camera assegnata era in un piano molto rumoroso e con la sensazione che non ci fosse privacy in camera.
Beautiful location, amazing ocean view, kind staff, very central but yet not crowded. Eating breakfast with such breathtaking view is priceless. Will come back for sure
We have just returned from a wonderful 10 night stay at the Grand Riviera.
It is a really charming place to stay , with great staff -- a particular shout-out to the Beach Club Team, who were very helpful and always greeted you with a smile.
We had an initial issue with the room , as there was no walk-in shower -- but that was quickly sorted and the room we were moved to was fantastic. There is a signicant upgrade charge if you require a sea-view -- but it is soooo worth it. The view from our balcony (room 132) was just amazing, probably the best we have ever had.
Food in the hotel was really good, plenty of choice at breakfast ( one small negative, in a country which grows such wonderful fruit, fresh orange-juice at breakfast would have been nice, instead of the rather watery juice that was on offer). We don't usually eat in a hotel, prefering to go out, but we ate twice at the hotel in the evening and the food/atmosphere was first class.
The hotel is slightly further from the centre than we have been used to, approximately 15 minutes walk and perhaps a shuttle-service would have been a bonus, but it is in a wonderful position on the cliff top.
It really is a great place to stay for anybody visiting Sorrento.
Our stay at the Grand Hotel Riviera was exceptional from start to finish. Even before we arrived, the front desk and concierge Francesco and team helped orchestrate our seven-night stay with incredible attention to detail, wonderful recommendations, and outstanding suggestions for activities and experiences throughout Sorrento. Their hospitality truly set the tone for an unforgettable vacation.
The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking , truly magnificent in every way. Waking up each morning overlooking the water was something we will never forget.
The dining experience exceeded every expectation. The tasting menu at dinner was exquisite, beautifully prepared, and one of the highlights of our trip. The à la carte menu was also among the best we experienced in the area. Each morning, breakfast was outstanding, with fresh eggs, pastries, fruit, and incredible ricotta that could not have been better.
I cannot forget the Beach Club and pool area both well kept, and the service was impeccable
Every aspect of this hotel reflects elegance, warmth, and exceptional service. We cannot wait to return.
The breakfast has a great diversified selection of foods presented in a graceful manner with superior service by the waitstaff.
Very clean, pretty, and beautiful views
Nice staff
The gym was very bad, not a gym at all & the pool closed way too early.. after all day shopping, we want to jump in the pool. Should definitely stay open until 8pm/10pm
Drinks were over priced
Beautiful hotel within an easy 10-15 stroll to centre Sorrento. Our suite overlooked the water with our own balcony offering plenty of space and furnishings! The service was wonderful, the breakfast was tasty and perfect to jump start the day. Highly recommend!
