Sonesta Essential Minot

Chose this hotel for a quick weekend get away for our family of 4 with three must haves, breakfast, a pool, clean rooms. Overall a decent hotel as far as cleanliness and staff being polite, the heat in the room had a mind of its own so it was warmer than it was set to, the pool was closed with no notice posted at the desk, no mention when checking in nor when booking online, cue very upset kids. The biggest issue was that when we went to enjoy breakfast after our first night my husband took a drink of milk only to spit it out as it was spoiled, thankfully neither of our children had any, what my son did have was a waffle only to take a bite and tell me it tasted funny. Hes 5 so I took a bite to make sure he wasnt having a weird food day, nope! The waffle batter had clearly turned bad as well! So if you're looking for a bare minimum hotel that doesn't care to follow food codes or properly notify guests of issues with ammentities this is your place!

Easy check in/out. Good location. It's a reasonable value for a one night stay.

Breakfast was pretty good, a little limited. A couple of juices were out. Eggs, sausage or bacon, cereal, waffle maker, some fruit milk and nice coffee maker. Rooms clean, showing a little age, but nice and quiet.

Slow checkin no assistance with handicapped bathroom

Room was ok, bed was comfortable and shower was great. Free breakfast wasn't anything special. Front desk people were friendly but didn't seem very knowledgeable about billing or printing a receipt. The mimi store was very depleted.

The hotel and staff were great, but the coffee maker did not work any morning when we went down for breakfast and the breakfast itself was mediocre at best.

This hotel was very mismanaged. Our flight was delayed , so we did not get to the hotel until 1:30 AM. No hotel staff was there. A note at the desk gave a number to call. When we called it the person said that they had went to the airport and would be back soon. When they got back they could not find our reservation that we had book 2 months earlier, but finally just gave us rooms but told us since they didn’t know we were coming , to let us know if the rooms needed anything and that the manager would be there in the morning. There was no trash cans in the rooms, the TV didn’t work, the body was had fallen off the wall of the shower and was broken on the shower floor. and the blow dryer was broken. The next morning we were told that the manager was in meetings and couldn’t talk to us. Late that afternoon a gentleman at the desk apologized to us. Saying that he didn’t know why we had been told we had no reservation, when he remembers putting it in the system 2 months ago. He then went out of his way to fix the problems in our rooms. The front desk was unmanned most mornings and breakfast items often ran out. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was because of the indoor pool . Unfortunately the pool was ice cold and the the hot tub was barely warm. There was also some sticky on the handrail into the pool. They told us it would be fixed but in the three days we were there it wasn’t. Next time we visit Minot we will not be staying here!

The pool was down. Common area bathrooms were gross. Breakfast was not good. The room itself was big and nice but there was water damage on the bathroom ceilings and they were out of shampoo in the pump bottle. The place needs some care.

Clean, quiet, good location, comfortable, and great value

There is a need for maintenance at this hotel. There were several issues with our room from lights burnt out to plug-ins not working. Elsewhere there were out of order signs. However, having said that, the room was clean, big and the beds comfortable. While I did have to wait at the desk for the attendant to come, she was friendly and helpful.

The Beds were very comfortable. The breakfast options were great and comprehensive for the price of lodging. The facility was updated and clean

Place was nice. The breakfast was great too.
