Good location
Property is run down and in need of tlc. Uncomfortable old beds. Very disappointing and a poor selection of this wonderful area.
Breakfast was very good value,
Bedroom was on the small side and showed signs of needing a deeper clean.
Location
Breakfast
Decor etc dated
The location right opposite the castle with a great view from the bedroom window.
Dated & tired decor. The staff at breakfast were not at all friendly and the service was slow.
Comfortable bed
Location. The food in the attached pub.
Scaffolding outside bedroom window. Lumpy bed. Very "tired" decor. Reception area very unwelcoming
Warkworth Castle is right across from hotel. Lovely bar next door to hotel wth nice beer garden and Castle views.
Good choice at breakfast, traditional english, eggs on toast, kippers, cereal etc.. staff were friendly and helpful, bus route to north and south locations if needed. Car park always good. Food was really good too.
last orders at bar was 9.30pm except for England football game which was a little disappointing.Shelf not big enough in bathroom for toileteries really and managing shower temperature control a bit tricky also. Not much really to do if weather is bad which it was'nt for us. Would stay again though so nothing that can be off putting.
Beautiful old building. Room was lovely with a gorgeous view. Dining room was impressive, and the breakfast was fab.
Nothing.
The room was very stuffy and dark! There was no light at either mirror for putting your makeup on. The bathroom wasn’t that clean in bits & there was lots of dust in the room. Breakfast was ok but each day there was 1 person serving and they weren’t very happy or overly friendly. We actually were stuck to the table on 2nd morning with our napkin ripping as we tried to use it! Tries to get more orange juice but it was gone. Stayed hear a few years ago and it had certainly gone downhill. Wouldn’t come back.
Position. Had a corner room had 3 windows and a lovely view of the river would have had a view of castle but big tree in way ( but nice old tree )
A little tired in place, carpet a bit worn chipped paint in dinning room. But was all clean
The main light was very poor if you wanted a decent light
Windows would not stay open unless propped open with a cup the frames were in very poor order
Great location and tasty breakfast included .
No complaints.
Warm welcome from Zoe. Hotel and pub under same company and are undergoing upgrades so few issues but generally positively lovely place to stay.
Great food, ideal position for local amenities, friendly hardworking staff, lots of free car parking.
Rooms a bit tired. Hotel was busy and staff were really worked hard ( several businesses in Warkworth similar as early season) Breakfast room next on list for refurbishment so understood it's issues but tables were well stocked and good delicious
Location was good
Hotel feels tired. Bathroom not great. Dining room dated, table felt sticky and not all the items on the menu were available eg selection of yogurts. Also not completely happy that there are no staff overnight
Breakfast was very good, excellent coffee and good menu and very pleasant staff.
The menu in the bar could be a little more imaginative, although the lamb's liver was lovely.
The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The double bedroom was crazy, something out of The Munsters. That room was described as luxury - luxury to what? It was awful and the single room wasn't much larger than a walk in wardrobe. The dining room for breakfast was grubby and poorly maintained. The hotel needs painting, redecorating, new carpets, furniture etc. For what the hotel offers it's totally overpriced.
