Hampton Inn & Suites - Buffalo Airport

We have stayed at this location, multiple times in the past, when we have an early flight, the next day. Most stays have been good, which is why I gave 2 stars.
We stayed recently (the day after Thanksgiving 2025), again because our flight home was early. This stay was one, big disappointment. We only book this hotel to sleep and get to the airport, on time, so our bar is low. This time, we checked in and were told we were getting the last room. The front desk clerk then ran up to the room to "make sure it was ready," for our check-in, well after check-in time.
When we got in our room, the smell was horrific! The stench of urine, with a perfume spray, was overwhelming. Then we noticed the air conditioning was on...in Buffalo, in the winter. Hmm, seems they knew there was an odor issue, and they were trying to hide it. I notified the front desk, when we received a text asking how the room was. No reply... So, as we left, to get something to eat, I told him, "I sent a text, the room smells like urine. I know you said it's the last room, but the smell is sickening." He didn't act surprised and just mumbled that he would contact the manager.
We were moved to a suite, which would have been nice, if the room had been properly cleaned. There were crumbs near the toaster on the counter, which was dirty, and clearly hadn't been wiped down, in the kitchenette area, along with a dirty sink. When I went into the bathroom, I noticed a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door and a dirty, dried-up washcloth left on top of the showerhead. There were no towels in the room. We closely checked the bed, which we still hope, was clean. My husband went to the front desk to let the man there know and get towels. He said he handed over towels, with no apology or comment, regarding the condition of the room. The woman who checked us out, was properly horrified when I gave her the information, as we left in the early morning. She was the only one in this story who seemed concerned about the level of cleanliness at this hotel.
I sent all of this information into Hilton and the response I got from Michelle Skidmore was "sorry you found your bathroom unacceptable." Nothing about the rest of the issues noted. Truly a disappointment on every level. Doubtful we'll ever stay here, again. But Hilton should do better and definitely do better with responses to issues regarding cleanliness in their hotels. We always bring Lysol wipes and use them on every surface, in hotels where we stay, I suggest you make sure you have your wipes if you stay here.

I have stayed at this property several time and have not had any probems in the past. But on my most recent stay, I scanned the QR code on the nightstand (to access the guest directory) and it went to a "page can not be found" message. I brought this to the attention of the person at the front desk and they a) did not now what a guest directory was or that the rooms had a QR code sticker for this purpose, b) tried to blame the situation on the on-going remodelling (which I later found out was not the case), c) declined my sggestion to pass on the concern to the general manager, and d) generally dismissed my concern and gave me quite a bit of "push back." I found the way they intereacted with me to be quite disrectful, especially since I was only trying to help by bringing a deficecy to their attention.
