Pros:

My review would have been much better had I not been charge way more than the price I booked it at through Expedia. The price when we booked was about $220 Canadian dollars. We chose to pay when we arrived. However when we got there we were charged over $600! I can understand that it was because EuroVision was taking place. Maybe it’s Expedia’s fault and I shouldnt be making this the hotels fault. In any event. The room was clean. It’s in a good location.

Pros:

Very good value hotel for the money I paid. Two minutes from waitrose, 3 to the tube. Room was basic but quite big for a UK room. Bathroom was a little small however.

Overall, would happily stay again.

I hope they sort the gym out however!

Small and friendly hotel approximately 20mins walk from the charming old city centre. Also on tram route. Clean and functional room with safe and coffee maker. Buffet breakfast had plenty of choice. As a base for a 3 day stay it was ideal.

Un hotel plutot dans des normes 2 etoiles, au chambre et au salle de bain exiguë et sans grand intérêt. Rapport qualitée prix mauvais car a cela le parking 30euros plus la taxe de sejours sont a ajouter. Le check in était cordial le check out via une autre personne l etait moins... voir pas aimable.
Le petit déjeuner et fade et limité, tout comme le service qui coupe les machines a café et remballe sans meme vous en informé... et si vous souhaitez reprendre un café via la machine qui est a disposition dans votre chambre la fameuse personne a l accueil vous informe que les capsules sont payante...
Son atout c est son emplacement, face a messe, 15minutes a pieds du centre villes proximités des trams et la possibilité de garer son vehicule mais moyennant supplément. En résumé experience mitigé.

The room was very basic. Bed and bathroom. Bed was comfortable. There was a coffee maker which we couldn't figure out how to use. No instructions.

La cena no merece la pena

Hotel básico, necesita reforma. Personal atento, desayuno correcto. La cena es en un restaurante a unos 5 minutos. La calidad del menú de la cena fue bastante pobre.

Reception staff came quickly and was friendly and helpful.
Tight car parking, but very close.
Nice restaurant attached with live music and chef who showed us proper way to eat some Ukranian dishes.
Greet street car access to various sites.
Our std double room had a small, but very workable bathroom. Our window opened into a building filled court yard.

Very comfortable and clean double room! Our stay in Alexander Hotel was nice, breakfast was good and there were sweet and salty delicious meals. The position is strategic and perfectly linked to the city centre (500 meters on foot) with bus and tram stop in front of the hotel! The structure is located near a very quiet road: our 3 nights were pleasant! I recommend it for your stay in Basel! See you next time, thankss!
