My recent stay at Hallmark Regency Hotel was unfortunately far below expectations. While the hotel's location is reasonably convenient, the overall guest experience was disappointing.
The room appeared dated and poorly maintained, with signs of wear and tear that should have been addressed long ago. Cleanliness was also a concern, as certain areas of the room and bathroom did not meet acceptable hospitality standards. Several guests have similarly reported issues such as unpleasant odors, cleanliness shortcomings, poor soundproofing, and maintenance problems. past guests have raised similar concerns regarding room conditions and discrepancies between expectations and reality.

Room - The room was nowhere close to what it is shown on website. We paid RM650 for three Deluxe Double Rooms a night. Picture shown the room has a window and is well-lit. To our disappointment, there was no window for all units booked. The units were dimly lit, poorly ventilated and cramp, nothing come close to a RM200/night room .
We requested a changing room but were faced with resistance from front desk, citing that all the rooms with windows have been fully booked, while we saw no guests other than us in the lobby, and parking outside the hotel was empty. Staff argued that some rooms were not what they looked like in the display picture, which we then rebutted that amounting to "cheating". We also requested a refund but request was not met. In the end, the front desk staff agreed to swap two rooms with window for us.
Staff - Thumbs up to the boycut hair front desk girl for providing amicable solutions though she initially refused to accomodate our request. Yet a chinese lady with pink ponytail was snobbish, cold and arrogant. No greeting, cold shoulder, no introduction of room when we checking out the new room before agreeing to the proposed solution. We were patrons to the hotel but was feeling unwelcomed.
Bed and linen - Duvet was thin, cover was washed grey and worn out. Bed sheet was so-so.
