Big spacious suite, great city views, good service, awkward location, and old furnishings
Pros:

Big suite with spacious bedroom and nice living room, great value for the price I paid. The bedroom is at a corner, and so has two sides of big windows with great views of JB city, especially at night. Sound-proofing is good, and I could not hear other hotel guests, or much traffic noise. The double beds are comfy and wide, but a bit short for taller guests. Strong central air-con system, very cold even at the lowest setting. The rooms were generally clean. Check-in and check-out service was polite and fast, good work by the staff. My TV could not power on, so I asked counter staff for help, and housekeeping quickly went to the suite and connected an extension cord which solved the problem.

Cons:

For guests driving to the hotel, note that due to RTS construction, main entrance access from Jalan Gereja is completely blocked, so can only enter from Jalan Ngee Heng. For guests walking from Komtar JBCC to the hotel, due to the construction site, the distance increased from 400m to more than 600m. Thus, despite the proximity to Komtar JBCC, the hotel currently has an awkward location. In the hotel, there is some renovation work going on. The hotel has a scary lift that may open its door even when it is higher than the floor level. The suite has old furnishings, the living room sofa looks worn and sags in the middle. The power socket for the TV doesn't work, so housekeeping staff had to connect an extension cord. The air-con vent in the living room is quite noisy. The bathtub in the toilet has stains, no knob on the tap so it longer works, there is no shower curtain, and no handles to facilitate entering or leaving the bathtub. The toilet door has to be lifted to close properly, and its doorknob is damaged leaving sharp metal edges which could cause injury. In the bedroom, there is an old-school bedside table, with radio switches that don't work, but the air-con and light switches still work. The two bedside reading lamps don't work.
