Extremely clean, fantastic hosts, breakfast was delicious, it’s in a beautiful spot with a tea shop across the road and a bus stop right outside
Just my opinion and I can get allergies but the smell of the Lilly’s (flowers) was over powering when you come in and I do not like the smell and it gets on my chest.. but this was very minor and I did tell the staff and they were promptly moved

Superb room and meals. Very friendly staff, who look after their guests in a way which shows that they care and want to do their best in every way. Beautiful quiet location.
Instructions needed on how to get hot water to the shower, but fine once this is discovered.

We had an amazing stay! The house is beautiful and set in stunning countryside, with red squirrels and deer running around as if straight out of a fairy tale.
Garry, Donna and their staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
The only problem is the food—you won’t want to eat anywhere else after trying their delicious cooking! Every dish we had (we chose the pescatarian menu) was imaginative, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. And the final dessert—the panna cotta—was pure heaven.

Wonderful location as a base for walking in spectacular scenery. Friendly and attentive staff. Lovely social lounge for canapés before dinner and drinks and conversation after. Top quality dining and service. Very comfortable bedroom.

It was a beautiful country house that is run by the owners, who obviously pour a lot of love into the hotel and guests. The location was amazing and close to so many hikes.

Hazel Bank country house was classy . Lovely decor and superb gardens and setting in the Borrowdale Valley. The food was exceptional. Delicious and very well presented. Enjoyed the formality of canapés in the lounge before dinner. Our host Gary made us feel very welcome throughout our stay.
Nothing requires improvement. We were very happy with everything.
