We were a familly of five with young children , we were there for five nights. We were given a suite right in front of the 401 therefore very noisy . Note:they were ok to change our room after we asked but the very fact we were given this room initially considering we were going to stay at the hotel for five nights is a kind of a lack of respect in my view.
In the kitchen there were three plates and forks and knifes. This suite was supposed to lodge 8 persons .
During our five nights and 4 days the room was partially cleaned only once , the towels were never changed until we ask. The bed were never done .
Each time we had to phone the front desk to ask for new towels, supplements plates etc. The personnal there were quickly responding , but the fact that we had to ask was quite annoying
Nice hotel at a good location. Friendly staff. Rooms need maintenance work, specially in bath room. Spacious suites.
Friendly staff
I've been coming here every year for the past years, and the hotel has been though changes. I would say the new renovation were very positive and awesome. The TV in the breakfast around now is a really great thing for news and starting the day.
Management remember us and we had a good check in after a misunderstanding. Professional and rooms were very clean this time around loved that.
Just wished the pool was a little warmer!
Easy to access, off the 401. Close to restaurants nearby ( few mins drive 3-5) and was delegated at the room spaciousness and amenities in the room. Very quiet , and pleasantly surprised by the complimentary breakfast . Also appreciated the no tolerance for noise and nonsense with a security guard present . Having to be up early we were glad to have no screaming or running etc in hallways. A few minor things needing attention like the shower screeching sound , uneven shelving, crumbling grout on bathroom floor etc. Overall good value for the money and would return for this price and service .
Booked an overnight stay for a midweek visit to Thermea Spa situated close by. The hotel is modern and new and clean BUT the staff are some of the most unfriendly, unhelpful I’ve ever experienced. No assistance for early check in, no mention of the hot breakfast the next morning. And weird, the dishwasher was FUL of clean dishes, wet with condensation and a note on the dishwasher all the dishes were clean - it’s like the cleaning staff didn’t bother to empty it and turned it on and left it with all the dishes that should be in the empty cupboards. I was disappointed with the none existent help. Self check in and check out would work well here with robots instead of miserable poorly trained human staff.
Beautiful newly renovated hotel, close by the highway and many restaurants and shops. Offers a wonderful, complimentary breakfast. Our room was spacious, clean and felt fresh.
The staff were all wonderful
We were greeted by a lovely lady named Joan at the front desk. Joan was not only helpful and gracious but she upgrade us to a suite! We had a wonderful experience and definitely would choose this property first and foremost.
Excellent facilities, quiet, clean and very nice staff. Good location and simply enjoyed our visit. Suites are well laid out, gym has all you need and great laundry facilities.
John Thomas, when asked his title, he replied I am a houseperson. Although I appreciate the swiftness and earnestness of John, I do not appreciate the title! In fact the “houseperson” title ought to be considered an opportunity to be reframed. John was very respectful, friendly and great to speak with, he is obviously a hard worker and an asset. The houseperson piece, infers an level of subservience that I don’t like!
We stay here whenever in the area. Hotel is clean, pool is fun, and breakfast is always good. Good value for money to get both a bedroom and living space when travelling with littles on different sleep schedules.
Not sure about pets but my room was very inviting
Great stay at the Hilton in Ajax. The room was great and breakfast is always a treat. We like the suite but it was a bit light on plates, cups and utensils this time. Full size fridge is amazing. Nice and quiet stay. Pool was awesome for a swim with our granddaughter.
We stayed in room 407 on September 22nd, checking in between 5–6 PM. The next morning, I took an extra blanket from the closet (I was cold during the night), left it on the bed, and went downstairs for breakfast. Our luggage was open on the bed and smaller bags were on the floor since we were getting ready to head out afterward.
When we returned from breakfast, I was lying on the bed waiting to use the bathroom when I noticed a live bed bug crawling on the blanket. I immediately called the front desk — they came up quickly, caught the bug in a bag, and the manager called to confirm it was indeed a bed bug.
I went straight to shower because I felt so disgusted. The manager offered us another room and took our clothes to be washed, but that was the extent of the help. When I asked for cleaning supplies for our luggage and personal items, all they provided were Lysol wipes. We spent over two hours cleaning and showering, trying to ensure we didn’t carry any bugs, but our luggage was never properly cleaned.
Later, the hotel brought in an inspector who said there was “no infestation.” From that moment on, the staff’s attitude completely changed. They treated us as if we were a burden. Our clothes came back wrinkled, and some delicate items weren’t heat treated because they would have been ruined — leaving us even more anxious.
The hotel offered no compensation, claiming they had already done enough by moving us and washing our clothes. One front desk staff member was particularly rude and dismissive, clearly unaware of what had happened. The manager — though polite — hinted that a guest must have brought it in, emphasizing that their hotel was “clean.” He even suggested we could have brought it in, noting that no one had stayed in the room the night before.
After returning home, I contacted Hilton corporate. First, they gave me the wrong complaint number, and when I followed up, they said the hotel had denied compensation because there was “no infestation.”
Since coming home, the stress has continued:
• We’ve done multiple loads of laundry and cleaned our car several times.
• We couldn’t visit relatives’ homes out of fear of spreading anything.
• I had to throw away some clothing, makeup, and my makeup bag.
• We spent hours spraying, vacuuming, steaming, and ironing everything.
• My purse, diaper bag, and daily items are now sealed in garbage bags and Ziplocks.
• The Raid spray made me physically ill from overuse.
We paid $579 for three nights, and if the hotel thinks refunding that amount makes up for the stress, anxiety, and financial loss we’ve endured, they couldn’t be more wrong. Every small black spot now sends me into panic — I wake up at night with a flashlight checking for bugs. Even a single skin irritation triggers anxiety and fear that we might have brought something home.
The general manager never called us back, which shows how little they care about their guests. Changing our room and washing our clothes isn’t a “favor” — it’s the bare minimum, considering we paid for a clean and safe stay. They couldn’t even offer a $15 bed bug spray to help clean our belongings.
The manager claimed they had never received a bed bug complaint before, yet I found a review from four years ago describing the exact same issue — and the hotel responded the same way: “no infestation.”
If there’s truly no infestation, then why are there live bed bugs in the rooms?
Don’t bother reaching out to Trivago — they don’t respond to emails. And the city health unit won’t take action for bed bugs.
Unless someone with more time and resources than us pursues legal action, this hotel will continue to get away with it — despite their legal duty to provide a clean, safe room, which they clearly failed to do.
I’m now trying to pursue this through my credit card company, hoping for some positive resolution. But until then, consider yourself warned: avoid this hotel and think twice before trusting Hilton’s standards.
FYI: They moved us into room 418 — knowing full well they only gave us Lysol wipes to “clean” our luggage.
Amazing hotel. This is the second time I've stayed here. Rooms are clean, a little updating in the bathroom, otherwise, no issues.
This was my second time staying at this hotel and I've been completely happy on both occasions. Highlights: 1. the rooms are huge and all of them include a small kitchenette. I stayed in two configurations, one with a separate bedroom when I travelled with my partner and on my recent trip solo, I had what would be a 'standard' hotel room, ie. a single room. Both were much larger than the average hotel room; 2. the breakfast is excellent, it's not just a selection of toast and jam or dried cereal - lots of choices both hot and cold. And the coffee is great too; 3. it's quiet - even though it's right off the 401, you'd never know; 4. the staff are super helpful. On this most recent visit I needed early check-in and the front desk person did everything she could to accommodate me. On my first visit I remember having a lovely conversation with one of the staff who worked the breakfast station; 5. amenities like a pool which I used on this recent visit with my grandson and we had a fantastic time. There's also a fitness room and for longer term guests, a laundry. There's a little mini golf set up on the patio too. This is a great hotel and I will definitely be staying there again.
Beds were comfortable and the hotel was very quiet.
Here for a procedure over two days. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Wonderful room big and great little kitchen. Is perfect. Will stay again next week and following weeks. Thank you!
Very clean and big room
Parking was safe
Extremely impressed with this hotel! Decided to stay here after much research and scouring reviews.
Great location about 5 mins away from the GO station which is a direct line to Union Station on the Lakeshore East. Great for baseball games, CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium and more.
Love the free parking which is sometimes hard to come by in the GTA.
Room: We had a two queen one bedroom suite and it has PLENTY of space. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the bedroom itself. There is a full fridge with top freezer, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, sink and cooktop. There was a TV in the living room and TV in the bedroom. The pullout couch was really decent quality and pretty comfortable for being a pullout! We've stayed in other hotels of the same kind of format with a completely unusable pullout couch.
Breakfast: was phenomenal for an included breakfast. We had very low expectations to be honest. Waffles are WAY better than chains in Orlando than we've come across before that the kids were so sick of. They even had fresh blueberries to top them along with real whipped cream, sauces, chocolate chips, etc. They even had dairy free chia seed pudding, overnight oats, carnitas with all the fixings, cereals, yogurts, and more and the staff there were very warm and friendly. The area to enjoy breakfast in was also a beautiful and comfortable space. This made it a great value.
Amenities:
Pool and exercise room were great. Pool had great hours as well.
Happy to have stayed. Will return
