My stay at Hotel San Rafael in Antigua, Guatemala was truly wonderful. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and made me feel welcome throughout my entire stay.
The room was beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect place to relax after exploring the city. Every detail of the hotel reflects charm and elegance, it truly is a little gem.
Breakfast each morning was generous and absolutely delicious, with a variety of fresh and flavorful options that made every day start perfectly.
The location is unbeatable just one minute from the Santa Catalina Arch and less than five minutes from all the main attractions in Antigua. Everything is within easy walking distance, which made my experience even more enjoyable.
I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that I was the first Romanian guest to stay here, which made the experience feel even more special and meaningful to me.
Honestly, I don’t think I could have found a better place to stay. I feel incredibly grateful for this experience, and if I ever return to Antigua, I would definitely choose Hotel San Rafael again without hesitation.
Nothing
Ubicación, desayuno, amabilidad personal
algún ruido del patio a la hora de dormir
The hotel is located right at the center of the town, next to some of the most famous attractions. It is very easy to explore the town from the hotel.
The room we selected is extremely spacious and well decorated. The courtyard is also beautiful. The bed is one of the most comfortable ones we have ever slept
We lived in this hotel after the exhausting volcano hike, and it was so refreshing living here!
No complaint at all!
Hermoso lugar y súper cómodo
Falta clima, pero tiene ventiladores
Beautifully designed with attention to details retaining historical elements. The setting is stunning and provides a peaceful respite from the excitement just outside the doors. Staff is professional and service is top notch. The breakfast service and options were excellent.
Drinking water - should provide easy access to filtered water. 2 bottles of water in plastic bottles were provided, which is not adequate or ideal now that we know the harm of plastics exposure. Other places we stayed provided unlimited filtered water.
The staff was wonderful, they couldn’t do enough for us! Would recommend highly!
We spent our first four nights in Guatemala at the lovely San Rafael Hotel in Antigua, a colonial-era building that was significantly altered over the centuries and recently underwent a major restoration. The property is very atmospheric with a tasty breakfast served in a lovely courtyard, which is candlelit in the evening. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even providing a take-out breakfast on the day we had to meet a driver at 6:00 a.m. for a volcano hike. The location is ideal, just around the corner from the arch and a five-minute walk to the Parque Central and all the activity that happens there.
This property is small and a special oasis within the village of Antiqua.
Absolutely nothing
This hotel is a 2 star masquerading as a four star hotel
The rooms have ants crawling around. They place people starting at 7am right outside your bedroom for breakfast who make sleep impossible. The front desk morning person is terrible and not at all service oriented. The evening gentleman is much better. I must admit that I was swayed by their beautiful website in selecting this hotel but it was a big mistake. It has been an unpleasant experience in an exquisite town.
As advertised! Such a friendly, professional and helpful staff who also helped arrange all my tours...can't recommend enough!
