Amarina Residence

I have been going to tis property for 6 years
It has not changed.
Tv`s didn't work then , useless now, lights not working or that you could not switch off at night.
The hotel is in a great location but requires refurbishment immediately.
Its desperate for some money spending on it.
Booked and paid for through Expedia but staff not aware we were arriving or if it had been paid for.
Requires attention !

Nice clean room, quiet place even if it's on a busy street, close to the beach. We stayed 9 nights and we sleeped well. We would have appreciated a change of sheets once in a while when they make the room.

Lors de notre arrivée on nous a donné la chambre le lendemain car nous avions utilisè l électricité le propriétaire à pris en otage la carte d identité de ma compagne de façon à nous faire payer un supplément si je n avais pas menacé d appeler la police on aurait dû payer. J avais réservè trois nuits et nous sommes partis la première pour le moment nous n avons pas été rembourser

Service was excellent, but the condition of the hotel was pitiful. The staff was the only redeeming quality - always friendly and helpful. However, the rooms desperately need to be updated, the amenities were minimal, swimming pool tiny, and there is no elevator. The location was also somewhat out of the way of the island's main attractions.

The nepali caretaker was really helpful. they should hire more staff or give the caretaker a room to stay as the reception is empty al night and early morning. the room was average.

Amarina Residence is impeccably clean which made me feel comfortable. While it is a 3 star for amenities as the TV is a dated model and there's no spa or robes and slippers, it is a 5 star for cleanliness and service.

The front desk clerk/manager takes considerable pride in the property and operations which is evident the moment you interact with him. I ended up staying for a total of 9 nights and this was consistent throughout my stay.

It was a pleasure to stay at Amarina and the residence has a family feel where everyone greets each other. I would certainly stay again and would recommend to friends and family traveling on a budget.

If you are looking for a simple, inexpensive location that is clean and comfortable, this is a great choice.

Please be specific on the term "breakfast".its because it does only have complementary coffee instead of "breakfast"

The Burmese guy at reception is a all round great host, very kind and always willing to help no matter what. His shop across the road isn't too bad either

Hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating, the location was close to the beach, and has great accessibility to the highlights of Lamai. Very quiet at night too!

This hotel is clean and comfortable. It is located within walking distance to shops and the beach. The manager is very friendly and willing to assist in any way possible to make your stay more enjoyable. We were also quite pleased with our $200 baht bike rental from Amarina. I recommend paying a few extra dollars for a room with a patio, but be careful about ants outside when drying clothes.

Pre-booked for 3 nights as we knew we would be arriving during Thai New Year (and did get a better rate online than through the door!). Staff were friendly but not around very much because of the holiday - but we're fairly independent so it didn't bother us. However, the room was cleaned well every day and there was always one person on duty. The hotel is nice, close to the beach and any food/bars you could possibly need. The beach at Lamai is good and the water is clean enough (particularly at the North End) - except after a storm and then you need to leave it a couple of days to clear. Pleasant little roof terrace if you want to sit outside and don't have a balcony.

I really liked my stay, the location of the hotel very close to all the amenities and the beach (although the latter is not the best and you need to go to other beaches).
The staff is really friendly and they'll help you out with whatever you need if they can.
I would definitely go back!!!

We stayed in two different rooms. The first one was with balcony with sea view which was very nice. The second one had no windows. So pay a little extra to get a nice room. Very friendly staff, clean hotel, clean rooms and very central on the main street. If I ever go back to Koh Samui I would choose this hotel.

Very basic. If you are just looking for a place to keep your belongings whilst you explore then this would be perfect. There is nothing else to do there - indoor pool which I wouldn't use, no food facilities but 2 minutes walk (if that) to the beach where there is lots of places to eat. Close to all the bars and shops. Cheap.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the last 6 years and again this year it was as nice as previous experience

Staff are lovely, rooms are basic but clean. Showers not great both power and temp of water but it's cheap.
