charming and clean but lack of soundproofing spoiled our stay

Very friendly staff. Easy check in. Clean and well presented.

Cons:

The reviews that are unhappy about the lack of soundproofing are sadly correct. I have never heard so much noise from room above. Every step they took was so loud it was as if the roof was vibrating. Earplugs were provided as they obviously know this is a major issue. If you can sleep in earplugs and don’t need to use an alarm to wake at a certain time this would be fine. But I did have to be up for an early appointment. I actually feel sorry about this stay. The staff and cleanliness was so great but I could not stay again due to this incredibly loud soundproofing issue. I was too scared to turn the tv on too high because I didn’t want to disturb others around me so I didn’t feel relaxed. I also do agree the lack of screens on any window is also an issue. No screens at all. So clean and helpful staff but the buildings mean you hear every step taken by others in the rooms above you and very noisy as we had stairs next to us. We were constantly hearing the loud steps of people going up and down.

Good location but some flaws
Pros:

The location is excellent, as was the generous, free parking, size of the room, and cleanliness. Great to have two comfy sofas and large bathroom with plenty of space to put your things.

Cons:

The bed was not comfortable, too hard and obviously worn. The sound proofing was TERRIBLE, allowing even quiet voices from downstairs to be heard. When they flushed their toilet, the water refilling was extremely loud in our room. The air conditioning units for either room rumbled noisily the base of the back wall. I struggle to sleep at the best of times and did not sleep well because of these problems.

Great Launceston stay!
Pros:

Perfect for a 3 night stay!
Pros:

Great location, very clean, super cute, I highly recommend!! close to the shops and pubs, and although you can hear the church bells they are not loud or annoying…so pleasant!

Nice and convenient with lots of space.

Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night during stay and took a while to sort. Out of house number didn’t answer.

Pros:

Great location. Love the spacious apartment style rooms. Bed comfortable. Best shower pressure in any hotel we’ve ever stayed in.
