Very clean , comfortable rooms with heating. Staffs and management are very helpful and friendly. Just about 10 minute walking distance to Boudha . Breakfast was also good.

Do not stay here. To summarize, the place is in a run down area and the place itself is run down as well. The sheets and towels are stained, paint peeling in the rooms, and very cold in all common areas. It took several hours to warm up my room and the staff is cold as well.
It is important for a business to make money, but charging 170 rupees for a small second cup of instant coffee at breakfast was gouging to the extreme. 700 rupees (hotel gets half) to the airport (4 kilometers away) was ridiculously high as well. Lastly, no rubbish bin, no robes and slippers as promised in the booking confirmation.

Well overall it was a decent and comfortable hotel, however the dinner we order on the first day of arrival was not that good and slightly overprice.

However the breakfast are normal continental and good.

Facility is very old. Very rusty, untidy water leaking bathroom. Terrible food from the restaurant. There’s a worm on the food served. No action has been taken even if I showed it. No apology even.

For anyone looking for a safe, gated, well-maintained, quiet, convenient, close-to-the-airport, customer-attentive, and affordable place, I have to recommend the Alliance Hotel.
I was in Kathmandu for close to a month this past May. Originally, I booked just a handful of days to make sure that the Alliance was everything I expected.
Well, it was. And, I reserved myself a room at the Alliance for the rest of my non-trek time in Kathmandu,
The staff is courteous and very helpful. They were able to get me good deals on taxis, a flight to Mt. Everest, and a flight to Pokhara.
Every morning, there was a wonderful breakfast with the basics just like you like them. Plus, there’s cable TV in every room and Wi-Fi on every floor. If you want a bite to eat or a beer to drink, their restaurant can prepare it quickly.
If you’re looking for something on the scale of a Hyatt Regency, this is not your place. The Alliance is simple, yet perfect for the traveler who’s looking for a comfortable place to sleep.
For value, there’s not a better deal in Kathmandu.

A 10 minute walk from the stupa, it makes you feel you are away from the touristic area. Pleasant garden. Great staff, all very helpful. Good breakfast. Amazing for the price. The room could have been cleaner.
