Missing some fundamental basics

It was good location and the room was clean

Cons:

I'm not one to complain but there were 2 critical issues I never encountered before: First, there was no curtain in the room, there was a sheer semi-privacy curtain. At 6AM when the sun was up the room was flooded with light and sun on our face. Second, they hosted a party at the hotel until 1AM that was incredibly loud - the loud wasn't just the music, it was drunk people singing poorly at a microphone that was way too loud. Even with noise-canceling headphones on it was too loud to sleep. When I went to the front desk to ask about when it would be done and if I could be changed to a room on the other side of the building I was merely told to wait until the party was over. If the hotel will be running parties that are that loud, they should at least inform guests ahead of booking. I would have chosen a different hotel especially since I was traveling with a child.
