Come and stay and support a local family business as they work to improve this delightful inn.
Pros:

The hotel has recently changed hands and the new owners are working hard to provide a good experience but naturally it takes some time to get the property up to the right standard. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Dinner was of a very high standard and good value for the quality of food that was offered. The location is great for exploring the local area and near enough to have a day in Edinburgh. Accept that it slight flawed at the moment and support a family business by choosing to stay there.

Cons:

The bedroom was very tired and showed the lack of historic investment, with peeling paint work on the ceiling. The cleaning was adequate but it was disappointing to have cobweb hanging from the ceiling.
