Stayed for a long weekend, family of 4 in 2 adjoining rooms. Very close to medina, perfect location. 5 min walk through beautiful gardens the main hub of Marrakech, the medina. Hotel is slightly dated but has a great outlook and an amzing pool. Staff were friendly enough. Rooms have heaters in them for winter (didnt figure this out until night 2). Breakfast is outstanding. Eggs are amazing, freshly scrambled. Lots of different breads, fruits, cakes, pastries, honey, preserves, fruits and most importantly, mint tea. Hotel could do with some upgrading but wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. Especially for the breakfast!!
Not up to a four star hotel! The surfaces and textiles are very worn and old, the towels were white maybe 20 years ago. The floor in the room is ice cold. Hand soap only appeared in the room on the third day. There is no bag in the trash can. The lighting in the room is really bad. Sounds can be heard through the walls easily.
The cleaners don't understand a word of English and knock on the door several times a day, one comes to check the towels and the other brings paper, etc. There was no "Do not disturb" sign in the room.
The reception staff was not very friendly, more like rude.
The breakfast was limited and something was constantly missing from the buffet. The tables were not cleaned during breakfast and there were a lot of crumbs and napkins from the previous diner, etc.
You can only pay the city tax in cash.
The hotel is close to the medina, but in my opinion that is the only good thing about the hotel.
The worst hotel I have ever been!
The toilet been cleaned every day but still dirty, on arrival we got two small soap bars, after first cleaning one soap was missing and never replaced, the same toilet paper and no shampoo, I had to go to reception desk and ask for toilet paper wtf? They should replace it when came to clean the room! Towels grey like was washing washing properly. Food disgusting, if you don't like sweet French breakfast, nothing else for you to eat! The photos with food here is a big lie!
If you use to European standards, definitely not recommend that hotel!
The only good thing is the pool and the pool boy, very friendly and always ready to help.
Location is also good, walking distance to Medina.
Small I would say 18" TV on wall, the room looks so old, never redecorated.
Location is good , but the hotel is definitely not a 4 star , breakfast is the worse hotel I stayed 😢is not much to eat the hotel needs new renovations
Best location in Marrakesh! The swimming pool , hotel cocktails and its private garden area are a luxury and only 5 minutes walk from the Soul and the craziness. The bedrooms are not luxurious but they are clean…… and it is so quiet!!The hotel staff are friendly and the breakfast is great! It is a jewel as long as you are not looking for luxury bedrooms.
The room was less than expectation which was a con for me
But the location was good, close to the market and the big mosque that was a pro
Breakfast was OK
But I couldn't get a massage and that was a con
What a bad experience , never to be repeated. I'm a solo traveller so safety is a priority . Given a terrible room with awful shabby bathroom. Checking out the next day ...expected to be able to have a towel and use the pool next morning but was denied one several times even tho other guests given one .....I couldn't wait to get out of there , will never go there again I felt like a second class citizen
Fantastic location. Short walk to the Medina but the hotel is definitely not 4 stars( Tired) Great size pool but didn't show the depth
Room facilities was basic ( no tea/coffee and no hand rails in shower as everywhere is tiled. (Slips) Catering more for the French specially breakfast. Struggle to give change when buying drinks. Would we come back here. . . No
The hotel is perfectly located to walk into the square where there are plenty of places to eat, drink, shop and visit. It also has a swimming pool, gardens and offers breakfast and snacks, all of which were the reason we booked. We have found the staff to be friendlier than mentioned in many reviews. There are also plenty of loungers. We didn’t pay a great deal so it probably represents value for money.
We were surprised to find out that everything is cash only and they seem to struggle for change much of the time - probably to create tips. It needs a big refurbishment and the cleaners could benefit from some clean equipment to work with.
Food wise there’s some choice, we’ve found breakfast and pool snacks to be fine but can’t comment on dinner as we’ve been eating out every night.
Overall our stay has been fine but it’s definitely not a 4 star hotel.
I Wouldn’t waste my time booking this hotel ever again and would never go back to this hell hole.
I Stayed here from 2nd august until the 10th august with room and breakfast included,Hotel looks nothing like the picture on the site, The staff are rude and perverts, when we arrived we asked to change room as it was cold & gloomy and next to a building site in a car park, we had ants in our second room, There is no basic appliances like kettle fridge iron ect as you cant take food or drink in your room and are told this when booking in, When you arrive you will be told that there is a tax on leaving the hotel of 216 Diram but they added 264 diram when we was leaving, The breakfast wasn't worth getting up for it was appalling, The was one member of staff that turned the air on off because we was sitting in the lobby, I don't think they like English people very much, I am not one for complaining but i am absolutely so angry at this hotel for the way we was treated, on leaving the taxi driver said it is a government hotel so this is why because they are unhappy, I suggest you book somewhere else and don't take the risk, this is a 4 star hotel and in my honest opinion i would give it a 1 star for the sun and pool, there is nothing nice about it, drinks are 25 diram each in the hotel, I understand that they have to make profit but they will try and make as much money as possible, outside shops charge 4 diram each for the same drink, i was so happy to be coming home and will never go back to Marrakesh ever as the disrespect dont end in the hotel. Good luck on finding a better place to enjoy your break i wish someone had told me this information before i booked
This hotel is so bad no customer service very rude staff no good breakfast very smelly rooms AC wasn’t working properly bath towels are so filthy never ever go there again, bar staff was so rudely talking to customer, even they not resolving issues, please don’t book that hotel it’s showing fake pics but reality is different.
I advise you not to book this place, horrible smell in the room, not allowed to bring your own drinks, food, takeouts to the hotel/room without security and reception yelling at you and being angry… (food terrible only 3 options, drinks expensive) They expect you to eat stuff there which was horrible, waste of money. apart from that Morocco is a lovely country
The hotel seemed nice on arrival but we soon realised there is absolutely no customer service whatsoever. Our room had a blocked toilet, broken air conditioning, and a view of broken tiles and a dumping ground. We were told we couldn't move until the next day. Then we were given a room which was ok, cleanish (don't look under the beds) and everything worked. On leaving the hotel we were approached by a conman who attached himself to us and took us to a rip-off cooperative where they made argan oil. We were stupid and fell for it. Don't fall for it! The market square had snake charmers, monkeys on leads, tortoises for sale and donkeys being beaten and pulled along by rope around their tongues in one case. Horses are pulling carts for tourists in blazing sun with only dirty water in the troughs. The animal cruelty we witnessed was shocking. Everyone is after your money and weighing you up everywhere you go. The food in the hotel was tasteless, bland and unimaginative. I asked for a large glass of wine, he pretended to misunderstand are opened a bottle then made me buy the the whole thing. You have to buy water in the hotel at 5 times the price in the Carrefour (about 15 mins walk away), and they try to sign you up for trips which, if you look at the reviews, are just another tourist trap. The pool tiles are crumbling off the walls, there is tatty artificial grass round the pool which smells very unhygienic. The cushions on the loungers are dirty. Avoid!
Really bad hotel. AVOID.
- Reception stunk of cigarettes
- rooms are so outdated, bed sheets stained, paint peeling off the walls. My bed sheets were also wet on my bed.
- room wasn’t ready at the check in time was over 1 hour and 1/2
- shower- if you can call it that, it was horrific
- can’t take any food or drink into the pool
- pester you whilst sat at the pool to order lunch. And then when paying they don’t give you change straight away and then multiple times they gave me short of change.
- don’t let you bring alcohol into the hotel, not even into your rooms. They check your grocery bags.
- they make you pay to print off boarding passes here
Useful location, tucked in grounds just across park from rear of Koutoubia so easy to find, near bus stops and medina.
24 hour security on entrance gate and in reception.
Largish hotel(145 rooms?).Well staffed. Most spoke French ,some English.
Rather dated and worn .Pool looked inviting and clean.
Rooms clean. Lighting a bit dim. Spare blankets. Beds comfortable. Pillows OK.
Hand held shower(liked for long hair).Hot water .WiFi worked well in the room. Heater functioned very well. Quiet at night and in the morning could clearly hear muezzins and the dawn chorus of birds in the garden.
Breakfast .Semolina porridge/gruel tasty and not sweetened. Bean to cup coffee passable ,also instant stuff in a machine. The rest fairly mundane pastries, limited salad items ,ubiquitous Danone yoghurt, plastic cheese and spam.
Water main damaged so no water for an hour or so then came out brown, but these things happen!
Nothing special but for the money reasonable 4 days stay for my son and I.
This place needs a complete refurb. Oh my god the arrogance of the receptionist when we arrived who will do nothing to help you or treat you like a customer. Someone change her and put someone who actually smiles and helps customers.
We were told we could get an upgrade when we arrive and made it sound like it was for my birthday but when we arrived the receptionist insisted we pay. And she did not budge for £90.
It was so hard to get anywhere with them. In the end I treated the staff how they treated me - with contempt. I could believe the non existence of the hospitality.
We did upgrade to a garden view and paid. The room is more basic than I have ever experienced. The plugs are under the furniture so hard to reach.
Bathroom was hand shower or sit in bath eeeek. No no no.
Breakfast the same every day every single day rubbish yet food on the streets is so cheap so why do they skimp on the food. No no no. Can’t believe that it so bad. I wish I had a plus. Please don’t stay here go stay in a riad where they treat you so well and really give you the service and hospitality you have paid for. OMG
This property was a huge disappointment. It advertised as a four star but was more like a two star hotel. The rooms were old and sad. Staff were rude and inattentive. The only plus is the location as it is walking distance to many interesting sites. We tried to minimize our time in the hotel.
I booked this a trip for my Mums birthday present, how embarrassing when we turned up to this.
If you love to hold the shower up yourself when you wash and don't want the wall to do it for you, this is the place for you. Ripped and stained bedding, you can't access the plug socket next to the bed as the built in furniture has been fixed to the wall covering half of it.
The cash machine didn't work half of the time we were there and the bar only accepts cash but don't bother getting anything other than a bottle of warm coke the cocktails were warm and without ice.
The breakfast was the worst I've experienced in any hotel abroad. Stale croissants and pan au chocolat, chicken soup (wtf!), no fried eggs or bread for toast. The coffee was lovely though
This is a very good hotel in terms of service and its facilities are well described.
It is in need of a coat of paint in the rooms. Beds comfortable , great swimming pool. Restaurant good basic food. Good breakfast . Staff friendly and helpful.
Reception extremely helpful when we left behind an I pad.
Very convenient to Medina and to good restaurants.
Will go again

Hotel Chems is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! I strongly recommend you avoid this hotel. The rooms are filthy, the corridors smell of sh*t. The staff are nothing but rude. You are made to pay city tax to the hotel, babies included. You’re not allowed to bring any drinks or snacks back to the hotel, if you do your charged A LOT of money. This hotel is not at all child friendly. For the price paid you’re better off getting another hotel.
