My stay at Bano Palace was a full week and was filled with the professional staff and kind gestures of the hotel as a whole. The room assigned to me at arrival was clean and modern with all of the accoutrements you would hope for. Except a window. As my stay was going to be extended I requested a change of room so that I could have access to natural light and the air outside. The manager (Aristide) quickly found a new room for me, complete with a balcony and a seating area (couch and chair). Not yet modernized the room was still very comfortable.
Housekeeping (Rose) was extremely polite and took perfect care of the room every day.
The food in Bano Palace is delivered still hot when ordered through room service, with everything in order. The breakfast buffet is also delicious although for my own tastes I could do with an alternative choice to fish on so many days. Maybe offer two choices on those days? Daniel(food and beverage manager) was very helpful and was able to connect me with local vendors for some reasonable shopping.
I have hopes to return to Douala later in 2025 and will certainly book my stay at Bano Palace.
Would have enjoyed greater variety at breakfast. A few repairs needed in older rooms.

Good location within walking distance of many restaurants and supermarket.
Well known hotel and thus very familiar to taxi drivers which is useful when taking shared taxis to get back.
