Great little hotel breakfast was great Buffett style lots of choices hot and cold food . Staff lovely and helpful the lady at breakfast very helpful as I was on crutches . Ham at the roof top bar helpful. Great base to see Bangkok from sky train x
We chose this hotel for our first few nights in Thailand because of its location. 20 mins walk from airport rail link, a curtesy tuc tuc to the metro and a 3 minute walk to the waterway public transport system. However the warm welcome fantastic food, pool bar and very comfortable room made it a 5 star rating in my book.
Everything was much better than expected, and all the staff were extremely courteous, attentive, professional, kind, and friendly. The hotel is truly wonderful, and its staff is exceptional.
The is hotel has wonderful staff and the rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast has a good range of food for all tastes. The roof top pool and bar are ok but a little small. There is a complimentary tuktuk to take you to mall 21 or station. Although this hotel is 5 miles from the Grand Palace and the pier on the river where a lot of the trips leave from it is easy to get a grab cab at a cost of about 300 BHT (£7.50). Travel time varies but allow 45 mins.
There is plenty of night life a short walk from the hotel so drinks and food is in abundance. The Blue Elephant Restaurant is well worth a visit as the service and food are first class.
We stayed at the Maitra Mode Hotel in January 2026 for four nights and had a lovely time.
The hotel is situated in downtown Bangkok, with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops surrounding it. There is also a free tuk tuk service to the nearby SkyTrain/Metro which we used frequently during our stay.
The staff at the reception/bar and pool were always friendly and accommodating, bringing drinks and food promptly, bringing up an iron when we requested within ten minutes and arranging a large enough taxi to accommodate our luggage for our transfer to the train station.
We also had breakfast included, which included continental food like pastries and bread, cereal, fruit and yoghurt, as well as to order food such as omelettes and poached eggs and hot food that changes each day. The food was delicious and set you up for the day.
The rooms we stayed in were spacious, clean and stylish, exactly like the photos. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of plug sockets to charge phones and cameras including usb ports.
The hotel is close to public transport so you can access any of the tourist attractions, I would say as it's located downtime some of the attractions do take a bit longer to get to but this was only a minor issue for us.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in Bangkok!
Clean, nice staff and a good breakfast, the city isn't in the best location to the main attraction sites and we had to get grabs during our stay either to dinner or tours but the hotel is clean, the rooms are very nice and it had a pleasant pool. Staff are happy to change your large THB bills at reception which came in very handy for us.
Great location and relatively easy drive from the airport. Balcony space would have been good or a window that opens.
Pool lovely but no sun mid afternoon
Room nice size but needs a chair as no where to sit.
Shuttle from hotel to terminal 21 (sky rail and underground) definitely worth it, reception staff really helps and friendly. But to get there it’s a relatively easy walk and worth doing it at least once. Road noise from our room early hours, it this wasn’t significant.
Electrics and lights were an issue -
Woke to lights switching themselves on/off electrics completely went the morning we were checking out. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Pool view is great and a nice size, a real bonus in the city. Hotel is in a great location with lots of night markets and bars on the doorstep. Easy for the skyrail, breakfast was really good, plenty of fresh food and coffee. Would definitely stay here again
My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel and we have very mixed feelings. On one hand, the property itself is excellent: the rooms are spacious and clean, the pool is beautiful, and the gym is well-equipped. The breakfast was great and the central Sukhumvit location is perfect for exploring Bangkok.
However, our experience was completely tarnished by a scam orchestrated by the reception staff.
We were interested in a Floating Market and Train Market tour advertised in a brochure for 3,750 THB (including guide, lunch, and fees). The receptionist insisted this was "too expensive" and convinced us to take a private taxi instead for 1,500 THB. She assured us the taxi would wait for us and that the market entrance fees would be very cheap.
This was a trap. After a two-hour drive, the driver took us to a remote, unofficial pier instead of the main entrance. We were forced to pay 4,000 THB for a boat. Since we were so far from the city and had no other way back, we felt trapped and robbed. After researching online, we realized this is a well-known scam where hotel staff get a kickback for sending tourists to these overpriced "private" piers.
It is scandalous that a 4-star hotel has staff members involved in such schemes. We felt betrayed and lost a lot of money and a whole day of our vacation.
Advice for fellow travelers:
• Do not trust the "cheaper" taxi recommendations from the front desk for tours.
• Stick to official apps like GetYourGuide, where prices are transparent and fixed.
• If you go to the Floating Market, ensure the driver takes you to the official entrance where tickets cost around 300-400 THB.
It’s a shame because the hotel is lovely, but we cannot recommend a place that allows its guests to be exploited by their own employees.
Had 2 nights here & thoroughly enjoyed it . Location is good , lots of bars / restaurants nearby . Tuk tuks plentiful.
Turn left out the hotel & the canal at the end has a mooring where water taxis stop . One fee no matter how many stops you do. Very unusual experience!
Breakfast at the hotel really good ,Lots of choice .
Rooftop bar/pool lovely.
Staff were ok .
Location of this hotel may not suit everyone but we loved it .
We were pleasantly surprised to arrive at the Matria Mode, down a quiet side street. We were upgraded to a corner "suite", also a nice surprise. It was more like a very large bedroom with a couple of armchairs than a suite but we weren't complaining ! Comfy bed, the pool looked lovely but we unfortunately didn't have time to enjoy it (3 night stay, only 2 full days & there is so much to do in Bangkok). We had dinner quite late in the restaurant on our first night but Ham wasn't phased and was very attentive. Breakfast wasn't our cup of tea but we used the complimentary tutuk down to Terminal 21 shopping centre (where you can catch both the Skytrain and the Underground) every day we were there. Reception staff were very helpful.
Fab hotel, close to a lively neighbourhood and 15 mins walk to public transport (or take the hotel tuk tuk). A lovely place to relax after a day visiting Bangkok
Stayed here for 3 nights and it couldn’t have been better.
Nice clean and spacious room, amazingly friendly staff and a great location to get around the town.
The free tuk tuk to terminal 21 was fantastic and certainly saved our poor feet.
Management need to ensure a customer is made aware their request was not able to be granted due to ???? whatever.
Great location, lovely staff, reception team are extremely helpful. The complimentary tuk tuk service is excellent. Rooftop bar is beautiful by night. Bedroom was comfortable & breakfast delicious. Only one negative was the food at the rooftop bar was not good in the evening.
The stay was convenient, and I had a great experience in Bangkok through the support of the staff at the reception. My shopping experience will not have been wonderful without them. One more great experience was my jogging at Lumphini park which was possible because of the ladies at the reception.
Generally, I had a great experience in Bangkok.
Thanks to your wonderful team
Keep up the great work! I loved statying at the hotel and the location was amazing... The staff was very helpful and the rooftop view was the best!
Nice hotel, close to canal taxi very convenient and cheap. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Free tuk tuk to various places
Very comfortable bed and pillows, the bedroom was lovely just lacked a comfortable chair rather than a bar stool in the room. Pool area was great. The breakfast was very good, along with all the staff.
We had an amazing stay here, the staff were incredibly attentive and hospitable. The rooftop bar and pool was lush and the hotel had great services/amenities! The welcome drink on arrival was such a nice thoughtful touch. The location was also great, still close to everything but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok! 10/10 recommend
We were just 2 days in Bangkok but the people in this hotel were super friendly. Always with a smile on the face and the always helped us with any problem (public transportation etc.). Can recommend it without any issue. Thanks a lot to the awesome team :)
