Excelente lugar

Very great lodge with big room and nice size kitchen and living/dining area. Bathroom can take some improvements. Outside sunset and rainbow views are awesome. Birds were amazing too of various colors ( yellow, orange and blue).
We were satisfied with the pricing and conditions. Night time dark sky with many stars was also a great touch.

This was a welcome respite from the over-touristy areas I had previously traveled through in CR. Jose was wonderful and easily accessible. The property was very clean and well-maintained, had a spectacular view, and was a quick drive to the biological reserve. I only had two nights and wish I had more! I absolutely recommend this property.

A small, but mighty property!! This family run property only has 3 units, however, very much worth a stay in Monteverde. The cabins are clean, comfortable and spacious. As an added bonus, the location is perfect for a Monteverde sunset. Jose is a perfect host as well!!

Lovely place in Monteverde with great views. The owner, Jose, was very friendly and helped us book some great tours.

We do note that the walls of the accommodation were fairly thin and you could hear the neighbours. Other then that this was great value for money!

Great View!

We recommend this property for families visiting Monteverde. We booked the 6-person suite, which was located in its own cabin.

Jose, the owner, was very responsive and easily accessible via Whatsapp.

Regarding the property, the mirador (looking point) shelter is a real selling point; while other tourists need to stand alongside the road and fight for parking to watch the sunset, Bella Vista Lodge guests may view it peacefully from the comfort of a covered and exclusive shelter. It is also possible to view the sunset directly from the 6-person cabin porch. Considering the remoteness of Monteverde, we found the cabin clean and practical. The dish and plates were a bit sparse but workable for 4 people.

The property is a 5-10 minute drive away from the central mall of the town where there are grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, etc. It is also immediately next to a gas station. It is about 15 minutes to the cloud reserve parking lot.

Laundry service is available for $5 per kg; Jose collected our clothes during the evening and returned them the next morning before check out.

Bedding had bugs in it and was not clean.

The lodge is in a convenient position with only a 10 minute walk uphill to the town shops anf restaurants. The owner was very helpful about arranging tours and advice around the area. Unfortunately, the rooms were very damp with the internal walls wet to touch. All clothes became damp, even those left in bags. A dehumidifier was put in the room but it was not large enough to cure the damp. Please note that our stay was during a period of exceptional rainfall as a result of Storm Sara so that our experience may not be normal.
