A real supprise. Professionally run hotel. With staff rooms and restaurant to match.
Pros:

Modern rooms that include aspects of the building heritage.

Cons:

We never (ever) normally stay in hotels that mention ‘dog friendly’ we don’t want to sleep in a room that has had animals in or constant yapping. This is not a reflection on our experience here, I suppose it’s luck of the draw.

Excellent all round
Pros:

Food and drink superb. Accommodation extremely comfortable. Staff absolutely lovely.

Cons:

The modern restaurant is a bit bright and formal. We ate (same menu) in the pub/bar which is cosier, has much more character, beautiful slate floors and open fires

Lovely relaxing stay with good staff and good
Pros:

Extremely friendly staff and a very nice room too. Food was great as well - lovely breakfast and evening meals very tasty.

Cons:

I’m not sure if the room was supposed to be serviced on a 2 night stay but it wasn’t . Not an issue as we are fairly tidy anyway and there was enough tea and coffee to keep us going.

Thoroughly enjoyable.
Pros:

It was very busy when we booked in but the manager went out of her way to help us unload our cases from the car and carry them to our rooms ( Also helped on departure )
Room was very spacious and clean throughout .
Evening meal was top notch and the waiter / bar staff were very attentive and made sure our eating experience went without a hitch.
The next day I ordered a bacon and egg barm to go - organised with the breakfast waitress, who delivered it to my room.

Cons:

N / A
