Would look.for somewhere else.
Pros:

The mattress was ok,The bath was ok but the shower head was loose and had to hold on to it.

Cons:

Air conditioning broken.
All they did was supply a fan,The fridge was warm.
Would not be staying here again,Put us off benidorm on our 6th visit in 3 years,Didn't offer us a different room upgrade, minimum I expected on checkout was a partial/Full refund.
Breakfast bacon was poor, Sausages were awful, and the beans were not good.
Never wrote a bad review in many hotel stays this deserved one.
Ruined our holiday.

Nothing but praise for this hotel
Pros:

What can I say , another wonderful stay at this hotel. This time I was a solo traveller but that didnt take away from the experience. I booked via Ryanair site a room with a balcony as I like to have an outdoor space to myself to people watch. I emailed the hotel post booking requesting a room that over looked the plaza. As usual this is a request and not a guarantee. This request was fulfilled and I had a lovely room 303 S2. This was a smaller room to others I have stayed in before at this hotel but in no way too small even for a couple. Lovely bathroom with walk in quadrant shower that was a blessing, no over bath shower which was a blessing for someone with slight mobility issues and solo. Usual toiletries and fluffy towels. Room cleaned and towel replaced daily. I was B&B and every morning lots of choice of cooked breakfast including egg station for fried eggs and omelettes, continental selections with meats and cheeses, cereals , yogurts, toast, and pancakes and fruit. So much to choose from and the hot breakfast was always hot. The lounge is a very welcoming place to sit especially if the rain stops you from venturing out. Coffee only 2 Euro and they have a price list on each table offering lots of choice. I paid more for a coffee everywhere I went to eat or have a coffee and much less than other hotel lounges or terraces. All the staff welcoming and although I didnt need assistance with anything, I know from a previous stay that if required the reception staff will do all they can to help. This is my 5th time of staying at this hotel and I always get a good price compared to other hotels near by and offering the same facilities.

A lovely place to stay
Pros:

I just got back from a four night stay at the Avenida. The food was brilliant, the communal areas were clean and pleasant and the staff were very friendly. The roof terrace and pool were very nice. The entertainment was good too.

I opted for a cheaper room without a balcony and a smaller bathroom. Next time I would pay for a bigger room, I’m a slim person and even I had to get out the shower just to get washed, it was very small. The room was nice and mostly clean, the draws needed a better dusting. The cleaner folded and gave me fresh towels every day which I expect, but still thought was good. My room was quite loud and I know some other people had the same issue.

Overall I had a great time and will happily stay again but not in the same room.

Not very helpful with room issues
Pros:

We have been to this hotel before and enjoyed our visit, so we booked again. The food and service were generally good and the staff were lovely. However, the air conditioning in our room did not work. Our room was unbearably hot and stuffy.

There was only one window, which opened onto a balcony which was accessible from a balcony alongside the corridor. We did not feel safe leaving it open. We spoke to reception who said the aircon was set to heating because of the time of year, even though temperatures were around 19/20 degrees.

They refused to move us to another room, but gave us a fan. Which did nothing more than move already hot air around. As a result, we had several uncomfortable nights of very little sleep and went home feeling more exhausted than refreshed.

The truth about the Avenida hotel from an experienced traveller
Pros:

Firstly I would like to give the good points about the hotel the single room I had during my 21-day stay was kept spotlessly clean by the lovely Mirabel my room was on the 4th floor and had a balcony with a very nice sea view. The top floor sunbathing pool area did also have great views and was a pleasant place to sunbathe there were plenty of sunbeds. The other good thing was the hotels' location a few yards from the beach and surrounded by shops and cafés.
The bad points are no kettle in the room no English satellite channels on the TV, terrible lifts that could only let 3 persons in at a time and there were only 2 for the whole hotel of 6 floors. However, these are minor compared to the poor food for an establishment that is supposed to be 4 star what was served up at lunch evening meal was extremely bland due to lack of seasoning and ingredients you will find reviews on here that say the food is good, but I live with a chef so please if you like good food do not expect it at this hotel.
I was also very annoyed by the many brochures that claimed the hotels swimming pool was heated, this is false advertising and was confirmed by the pleasant assistant manager who confirmed what I and others had already discovered, she did tell me however that they did not heat it because nobody wanted to use it. This was not true during my visit myself and others tried to get into it but to cold. So the hotel is advertising a service they do not have there is no swimming pool in use.
Although most of the staff were okay or very nice one of the barman was horrid I asked him for tea, and he pretended he did not know what I meant another day I asked for a chocolate with cream, and he did not bother about the cream and was very hostile when I challenged him.
So in conclusion please be aware this is not a genuine 4-star hotel, and it is. at best 3 stars very, very average it will not be a place I shall return to, and I say to others please shop around you will find much better value for money in Benidorm

Far too warm and unhelpful staff
Pros:

This is my 3rd stay at the hotel and what an awful experience. We were allocated room 301 and realised as soon as we got there it would be far too warm for us. Air con was blowing warm and there was only a small window in the room that opened on to a balcony that could be accessed by other guests. This wasn't an ideal situation for my sister and myself as we didn't feel safe.

There wasn't a window in the bathroom (nor an extractor fan) so we didn't even have the luxury of a through breeze. We asked at reception to change rooms to be told that the hotel was 'full' which it clearly wasn't. I know you can upgracde the room for 16E per night but we weren't looking for the upgrade, just wanted a similar room with windows that could be left open without the fear of someone coming into you room

A good hotel for a winters break. Everything on the doorstep
Pros:

Arrived Saturday 14 February with Jet 2. Some sun! Reception were great, room 242 looking sideways to the beach from the balcony. We didn’t want to walk far for things to do and the hotel is perfect for that, lots of shops bars and entertainment minutes from the hotel.
Room is fine, big enough for two. We stayed full board plus and the selection is varied, healthy to stodgy, all well prepared.
Rooftop pool is fine for getting the sun, although there are no umbrellas for us folks feart from the sun.
Bar is fine for winding up the night after being out
The hotel staff are great, friendly, funny and helpful all the time.
The lifts take a little time to get to you but you’re on holiday, what’s a few minutes?

Lovely hotel in centre of Old Town
Pros:

Nice hotel in a busy pedestrian thoroughfare, surrounded by shops and restaurants, and a few minutes walk to the beach. Hotel rooms are pleasant and adequate but a bit tired. I missed having a kettle and tea making accessories in the room, you could buy coffee at te bar and you would get a small cardboard take away cup, buy or take a mug with you for this. We had a few rainy days, but the TV only had ITV2 in English, and it was programmes from 30/40 years ago. Entertainment was a bit hit and miss, the same repetitive piano player most nights, then another act about 10.30. I wasn't over impressed with the food at the buffet, repetitive and uninspiring. The staff in the hotel were lovely. The rooms were clean and adequate
