a pleasant central place to stay for a short trip in Kunming on the way to Lijiang
Pros:

the attentive service provided by front desk staff Devin. I left my blood pressure medication in the taxi I took from the airport to the hotel and the driver could not be contacted. Devin was extremely helpful. He helped me to locate a nearby pharmacy where I can buy the medication I needed. This is not an easy task as the name of my medicine is in English and he got it translated into Mandarin. He even got it written in Mandarin for me. I was really thankful because the pharmacist in the pharmacy can not speak English. Without Devin's help, I would have a see a local doctor in order to buy the medicine. I really want to thank Devin for his help. It's always the people that makes the difference on a trip, so my trip to Lijiang via Kunming was made special by the staff Mr Kevin from Crown Plaza city Kunming. Much appreciated.

Comfortable, clean and very friendly staff.
Pros:

The property is clean. We had good sleep. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We had a late night flight on the check out date, the staff was willing to give late check out until 4:30pm.

A perfect stay
Pros:

Everything was perfect. Especially the staff was very friendly professional and helped us with everything. All of them.

Cons:

An employee was being very loudly reprimanded by a supervisor in the breakfast restaurant for several minutes, while all the guests had to listen to the humiliating scene. This is difficult for us as Westerners to understand. But as a guest in another country, seeing different customs is part of the experience.

Too warm to have a good sleep.
Pros:

The bed is comfortable.

Cons:

No matter how we adjusted the temperature of the air con, the room remained warm. Contacted the receptionist and they said… just draw the curtain … but it didn’t help at all.
