A pleasant stay in the end.
Pros:

There was a mix up with the original room allocated on the first night which was so small - couldn't get in the shower!
Thankfully, the staff in reception noticed the error and arranged a move to an altogether room of a desired standard.
All the staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and the service was spot on. Kate behind the bar in the lounge couldn't do enough for us.
Reception staff went out of their way to correct the mix up over the room. A problem corrected!!

Cons:

Lack of choice for coeliacs requiring gluten free options at the evening meal. Breakfast gf options good.

Nice place for a wedding but I wouldn’t stay for the honeymoon.
Pros:

Beautiful setting for a wedding and friendly staff who were very accommodating. Choose it for the ambiance

Cons:

The WiFi was almost non existent, the bed was hard, and a train went past several times a night. Breakfast was mediocre compared to other places we’d stayed.

Relaxed, informal and would definitely recommend
Pros:

Peaceful and bed so comfortable. Enjoyable weekend attending a very special wedding, well organised and couldn’t fault the staff.

Cons:

Good breakfast, but 7.30 till 9am service is too early for a relaxed Sunday morning.

A break away for a couple of days.
Pros:

Loved this place. The Room was great . Lovely grounds, clean everywhere. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was very nice. Would stay here again.

Cons:

The mattress was a little hard and thin. The lights outside the apartment was very bright, so made it a bit difficult to sleep.
Otherwise everything else was perfect. Didn't spoil our stay though! 😊

Stayed here a number of times.
Pros:

Setting is lovely with interesting buildings and garden areas. It is just a short distance off the motorway in a rural setting. Staff are very good,friendly and helpful. The cabin style bedrooms were cute and comfortable almost like being in your own mini terraced house
Food in the bar was very good and service excellent as were all staff I had contact with. Breakfast was good with the usual range available. Plentiful parking in various parking areas. Rooms were good size, clean and comfortable. Reception staff good and helpful.

Cons:

Could not fault them. Anyone with mobility issues may find the stairs up to the breakfast room awkward but I'm sure the staff would find a solution to help if they were made aware of any issues

A comfortable stay in lovely surroundings. Easy to get onto the M6

The staff were very friendly. Comfortable beds and lovely grounds to walk round. The evening meal was good and well priced.

Perfect place to break the journey to or from the north.
Pros:

Great place to break the journey north. Great bar and restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal position near to M74 junction. Parking perfect - right outside the room. I would definitely recommend it as a lay over. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day.

Cons:

Security lights in the parking area were very bright.
