Prima kamer, zolang je geen gebruik hoeft te maken van de badkamer (of de wifi, die werkt niet). Enorme (!) kakkerlakken in de badkamer, waardoor ik de hele nacht wakker heb gelegen omdat ik niet naar de wc kon (durfde) en 's ochtends zelfs de douche (en het ontbijt) heb geskipt om zo snel mogelijk uit te checken en te vertrekken.

I stayed at this hotel for a week and I really enjoyed it. The room had AC, hot water and good wifi reception. I had the american breakfast and it was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to others since it was well priced.

Hotel tres tres basique.....Douche sans bac à côté de la cuvette des toilettes.....Ménage pas fait durant Les 3 jours,pas de papier toilette( fallu En demander ).Assez éloigné du centre.Repas:pas terrible.
Mais, hôtes charmants,tres aimables,rendant service.Bonne proprete.Petit déjeuner tt à fait correct.
Donc: hotel pas tres cher, mais tres simple,plus pour globe trotteurs...

Hotel basico, comodo, barato. Gente simpatico y muy amable.

I arrived late, there was someone there to greet me. I didn't stay long but would recommend this hotel.

Anthony and Dilrukshi are fabulous hosts. They were helpful before arrival with information and suggestions, and really stepped up when travel plans had to drastically change. Great breakfast!

No facilities. Too far from the city colombo. Completely outdated. Needs renovation.

We were just staying the night to catch our flight out of Colombo the next day at noon. Every tuk tuk driver we had, none of them knew where it was. They refused to look at my map on my phone and just went around asking instead. They ended up having to call the hotel. There is nothing around the hotel, no food or anything. While my reservation said that it included breakfast, we arrive and they told us there is no breakfast. We went downstairs in the morning to confirm our airport transfer, there was no staff there until 8:00 until we were making a lot of noise til he woke up. Not with booking this place. Stay closer to city center to cause less stress.

Good Hotel, very friendly and kind staff, a bit far off but a nice hotel to stay for a couple of days!

For the price very nice and cozy hotel. With extremely friendly and helpful staff. Especially young boy that is working there was very helpful and "handy". The food from restaurant was very good and unlike in the other hotels on Srí Lanka not overpriced. The same is for the price for the taxi to the airport.
Rooms are small but clean and well cared.
Location off the hotel is hard to find for the first time. Once you get by bus to Nawala it is easier to get tuk-tuk to got you there. After that it is just a matter off 20 minutes and 50 rupees for bus to get there from or to Colombo.
Overall impression is very good and I would go there again.

Za danou cenu velmi pěkný hotel. Zaměstnanci velice příjemní a ochotní. Především jeden mladý hoch nám pomohl se vším co bylo třeba. Jídlo z vlastní restaurace bylo velmi chutné a narozdíl od jiných hotelů na Srí Lance za velice dobrou cenu. To samé platí i pro taxi obednané hotelem na letiště.
Pokoje malé ale v dobrém stavu a čistotě ostatně tak jako celý hotel.
Jedinou nevýhoda je umístění hotelu, ale poté co zjistíte kterým autobusem se dostanete na místo je to otázka 20 minut a 50 rupií z centra.

Peaceful and quiet place to stay. 10-15 min. drive by rickshaw to Colombo. Very nice meal.

Run by a friendly couple, this is probably your best guest-house option in Colombo. Unless you want a fully-serviced hotel in the busy city center and mind being 10-15 minutes away from the hustle-bustle, I can't think of a better place to stay, in a relaxed, residential neighbourhood by a green lake, with spot-clean rooms decorated with wooden furniture, and some of the best food I had in Sri Lanka, served in a homely hut in the garden. The staff is superb, from the owners to the three family-like assistants who will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant.

This hotel is in the middle of being renovated,I am sure it will suffice on it's completion but at the moment it is not up to scratch

Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Excellent food both breakfast and evenings. Excellent beds, towels and hot water. Wi-Fi good. Few km out so nice and quiet. Tuktuk average 500 rupees. Staff very willing. Good choice.November can be monsoon. Rain all week and just 2 days with Sun.

Hotel in perfect place near to all tourist attraction places we took toktok to everywhere there and doesn't cost us match it's also near Colombo fort in case u need train to visit candy..the madam owner of hotel is very helpful and advised us a lot ...really value of money

Das Hotel nimmt die (europäischen) Gäste in der Regel schon sehr viel früher am Anreisetag auf, als es vertraglich verpflichtet ist; die Flieger landen ja noch mitten in der Nacht. Bei uns hat das nicht geklappt, da das Saffron nicht nur komplett ausgebucht war, sondern auch unser Zimmer ungeplant noch belegt war. Trotzdem wurden wir um ~5:30 Uhr früh aufgenommen, bekamen eine Sitzecke zugewiesen, wo wir uns auf Sofa und Sessel ausruhen konnten und wurden mit Tee, Wasser, Brause und einer warmen Mahlzeit auf Kosten des Hauses verwöhnt. Mittags konnten wir dann auf unser Zimmer. Sauber, sinnig (Steckdosenleiste mit Adapter!), Fan AC, herrlich ruhig, Bett und Nasszelle o.k. sowie kleiner Balkon.
Schön ist die offene Frühstückshalle und das "Roof-Top" wo wir einige Abende haben ausklingen lassen.
Das Continental Breakfast könnte etwas langweilig werden: wir haben z.T. auf Sri Lanka Breakfast umgesattelt: lecker!
Da uns der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen hat, haben wir vor dem Start unserer Sri Lanka Rundreise gleich wieder den Tag vor Abflug nach Deutschland im Saffron gebucht. Das hat problemlos geklappt und wir bekamen viele wertvolle Tipps, wo wir in Colombo die geplanten Mitbringsel gut & günstig bekommen können.

Location is the "killer" I had to take taxi (tuk tuk)about 10 times during my day and a half stay in Colombo,unfortunately I found most of the drivers were cheats, therefore it really becomes a problem when your hotel is NOT a walking distance to any important sight. Staff was extremely helpful, in a way that compensates for the location!

Our stay was very comfortable.its like home away from home. People are very fReindly. Good hotel.

Positives -- Nice people who run the hotel. Breakfast and evening dinner were very good. Wifi was reasonable. Bed was quite comfortable. Negatives -- the hotel is very difficult to find for taxi drivers as it's located away from the city centre in a not-so-wonderful residential area [it's wise to use Google Maps on a Smartphone to direct the driver...]. The cleanliness could be greatly improved. Also, with the government imposing a 25% tax on hotels and guest houses, most accommodation seems very expensive compared to other countries and the Saffron is no exception.
