Fint og avslappende opphold.
Pros:

Meget fine Onsen fasiliteter, og ett fint område. Flinke folk som jobber på stedet. God mat.

Cons:

Maten er tradisjonell japansk, så den kan være utfordrende for barn, men hvis man snakker med personalet så tilrettelegger de bra.

Great onsen experience but food is a let down
Pros:

We appreciated the authentic atmosphere of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and the onsite onsens were excellent. The complimentary shuttle service to the ropeway was also very convenient.

Cons:

We were surprised by the additional onsen tax and room tax that had to be paid on departure. The location can also be inconvenient without a car, as buses to supermarkets and restaurants are expensive.

The biggest letdown was the food which comes at a premium price. The quality was poor, particularly for longer stays. The vegetarian dinner menu became repetitive very quickly and consisted mainly of multiple tofu dishes with very little flavour. I’d expect more given there isn’t any other options within walking distance. Breakfast was also underwhelming and lacked flavour. In addition, the beds were quite uncomfortable, however I think this is common for Japan.

Wonderful experience in a stylish ryokan with beautiful onsen and delicious meals.
Pros:

This was our most luxurious overnight stay during our camper tour through Japan, staying via campsites and hotels. What a beautiful room in a stylish hotel. How nice to find an authentic Japanese outfit in the room as well. And everything needed to make tea and have something sweet to go with it. The futons are in the closet and are only laid out later in the evening. Sleeping on a futon is hard, I have to be honest about that. We knew that beforehand, though, and it is part of the whole Ryokan experience. We enjoyed the communal onsen at the bottom of the hill, wearing the hotel's swimwear. Personal swimwear is not allowed; it is quite a funny outfit, made of thick, dark brown fabric. The onsen was blissful! The hotel onsen (separate for men and women) was also definitely worth it. We had a delicious dinner with friendly and efficient service. Breakfast, as early as 8 am, was likewise typically Japanese and delicious. Highly recommended!
