Pros:

I loved the location, close to nature, beautiful scenery and able to walk to local Onsen, close to ropeway too.
Food was excellent, large, comfortable room, spotlessly clean.

Great mixed onsen
Pros:

Came for the mixed onsen and that one sure was excellent. It’s beautifully located, in nature, with a view on the river. Be aware that you have to rent bathing clothes, even if you have brought your own (couple 100 yen so not much of a problem for us). Other non-mixed and private onsen options available. Tattoos must be covered. Staff was attentive and English OK. Breakfast was great too. Mostly Japanese visitors.

Cons:

We have very mixed feelings about this hotel. We liked the authentic feeling. Yes, it’s a bit worn down but that did not really matter to us as it added to the experience. However, the room smelled like urine upon arrival (we were switched upon request) and the dinner did not live up to the expectations. Mostly the textures were a bit too much for us. Normally we like all exotic foods, so we were very surprised by this. If you’re keen on a mixed onsen experience we would recommend, but would definitely skip dinner. We suspect better quality and priced hotels are in this area.

Wir würden es ehrlicherweise nicht wieder buchen. Das Gesamtpaket hat für uns nicht gepasst.
Pros:

Wenn man es traditionell haben möchte ist man hier sicher richtig. Das Abendessen war aussergewöhnlich abwechslungsreich für Personen die gerne ausprobieren. Sehr lecker. Das Frühstück war auch traditionell japanisch - sicher nicht für jeden das richtige.

Cons:

Fenster durften nicht geöffnet werden und es gab keine Klimaanlage, so dass es im Zimmer total stickig war. Bei genauerem hinsehen eher schmuddelig.

Pros:

Le repas a vraiment été une expérience culinaire très agréable. L'hôtel est bien tenu et il propose de nombreuses prestations. Les espaces communs sont somptueux.

Cons:

Malheureusement les onsen ne sont pas "tatoo friendly".

A good place for visiting Kamikochi park

Pros:

We chose to stay at this traditional Japanese-style hotel, and it was a wonderful experience. The room was clean and tidy, with comfortable futons, and the dining room served interesting and unique Japanese dishes. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the private onsen, which we enjoyed so much!

お食事がボリュームもあり美味しかった

Cons:

⑴部屋の電気が暗すぎる　全部の明かりをつけても暗くてお化粧するのに大変でした。
⑵途中交通止めがあり宿泊施設に向かうのに時間を要した。ホテルの注意書きに入れといて欲しい
⑶露天風呂はボロく想像とかけ離れていた

Gorgeous scenery even in off season. The real thing if you are looking for a traditional onsen.
Pros:

Beautiful setting and facilities. Rustic and authentic but very comfortable. Wonderful onsen s and variety of indoor/outdoor options.

Cons:

Part of the authenticity is that few staff understand English. That is part of the fun for some travelers.

お食事処のスタッフの方々がとても感じが良い
Pros:

お食事処で働いておられる外国籍の方と思われるスタッフの皆様が本当に感じがよく、大変親切で、トラブルにも臨機応変に対応してくださり、とてもありがたかったです。お食事処のスタッフの皆様に大感謝です。またお会いしたいです。
館内は綺麗で、食事も美味しく、温泉も良かったです。館内にある足湯も暖炉も良かったです。暖炉は夜もあるとありがたいですが昼間のみでした。

Cons:

逆に、受付の日本人スタッフの皆さんがあまり感じが良くなかったです。交通事情により到着が遅れそうになったときの対応も素っ気なく、また、事前に何度もご連絡させていただいていたにもかかわらず、雨の中で到着する中で、バス停まで迎えに来てくださるサービスがあることも事前にお伝えくださらなかったり(結果的に大きな荷物を持ったまま10分弱徒歩)、宿からバス停までの送迎についても我々1組しかいないにも関わらず一切柔軟な対応をしてくださらず、大雨の中雨宿りもできない場所で10分ほどバスを待ちました。ダメなものはダメで構わないのですが、日本人スタッフの皆さんの接し方、態度にホスピタリティが感じられなかったところが残念でした。
