Very enjoyable stay and we will be back.
Pros:

Great location that is close to the sea. Shop nearby. A pub just down the road. Very friendly staff who really care about the customers. Me and my Dad spoke to Mandy like we were all old friends. Pasta dish for dinner was nice, the eggs Benedict was perfect. Decent lager, good coffee. There is an assortment of snacks in the room which was a bonus. Fruit, yogurts, muffins, fruit juices, chocolate, biscuits, water, milk, porridge, honey...

Cons:

My room was above the bar so it was a little loud but it wasn't really an issue, as the bar shuts at a reasonable time anyway.

Fantastic location
Pros:

We had a large room with balcony and sea view. The location was great with a beautiful view across fields to the sea. Lovely big bedroom and large ensuite shower room. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic. Although they do not offer breakfast, they do provide a hamper with cereals, cakes, fresh milk, yogurts, fruit and chocolate bars in the fridge. Breakfast in bed with a sea view, what's not to like :)

Cons:

Nothing

Best hotel ever!!!
Pros:

Wow what a glorious hotel!!! We're just home from a couple of nights staying here and I can't recommend it highly enough ☺️ the room was super comfortable and so was the bed. All the necessities supplied, and a lovely breakfast hamper left for us on Sunday morning. The food? Wow, kudos to an amazing Chef, absolutely marvellous food, and every single member of staff was so kind, friendly, caring, with nothing being too much trouble. It's also very disability friendly which both of us really appreciate. And it's dog friendly which I didn't realise! To anyone who is looking for a very comfortable, friendly, really well equipped hotel that serves truly amazing food, with lovely sea views? I have no hesitation in recommending this sensational hotel to anyone. Oh and the new rooms you showed us? They are going to be awesome! Heartfelt Thanks from me and my Wife, and we hope to see you again in a few months time! Very best wishes to you all ☺️ Martin and Fiona xx

We WON’T be back
Pros:

We WON’T be back!
Having stayed at Dormy House several times previously, once in the hotel, other times in our Motor Home, we thought we’d have a couple of nights this week in the hotel. Wish we hadn’t bothered!
It has certainly gone downhill since it has changed hands.
Our room was noisy. We could hear conversations and scraping stools in the bar below us. The room above had very squeaky floorboards. Even with the double glazed windows, there was a lot of road noise. The walls in the room were stained and dirty.
The water pressure was awful, so showering was interesting, it took 20 minutes for the bath to fill, and the plug in the sink let the water out.
Our bottles of water and complementary little bottles of shower gel, weren’t replaced for our second night.
There is nowhere to lounge downstairs anymore, as the restaurant (the old one is being made into bedrooms) is now in the bar.
We were very disappointed with the menu and food. The starters were good, but the ‘catch of the day’ fish, which we were assured was locally sourced, was obviously fished out of the freezer along with the chips. No carvery every day anymore either.
Breakfast was very expensive for what you got. No fruit, yoghurt, cereal or toast. Paid £12 each, for eggs Benedict and eggs Royale, the eggs were lovely. We also had to pay £3 for a cup of coffee. No offer of a refill. We’ve never had breakfast in a hotel, where you have to pay extra for a drink.
The website shows a different menu, and the old dining room.
The best thing about the hotel was the staff.

Terrible Food
Pros:

Food was terrible, very disappointed with the experience after being recommended by a local, would recommend taking a packed lunch just in case 🫢 could be a really nice place but needs new management/owner and definitely new chefs

Extremely disappointed
Pros:

Visited for the first time this year - it is our usual choice for a lovely carvery. Took my eldest son, daughter in law and grand daughter. Extremely disappointed. Restaurant has closed and is being made into disabled rooms for the hotel. We were told that a new addition is planned for the bar area to increase its capacity but you would think this would be carried out before the restaurant closure. We were squeezed into the bar, the carvery was very limited and the price had increased from £17.95 to £19.95 for two meats or £22.95 for three. The carrots were like horse carrots and had hardly been cooked, no sausages or stuffing. Did inform the staff at the time but feel we will not be returning.
