Stayed for our wedding anniversary room was setup amazingly

Sadly the food at the hotel was not very good. Especially the à la cart menu was barely edible.
Plates were often dirty.
Some of the staff were very nice and friendly.

Our stay at Sun Island Hotel & Spa Legian was unfortunately very disappointing and far below what we expected. While there were a few positives, many issues made the overall experience frustrating.

First, the breakfast was really bad. It felt like the same food was being served for several days with very little variety, and the quality was not good. Most of the staff in the breakfast area were rude and unhelpful, which made the experience even worse.

The only exception was Mr. Nokia, who was polite, friendly, and very professional. He was clearly trying his best to make sure guests were comfortable and having a pleasant stay. He checked on guests, was attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the experience people were having. Unfortunately, he wasn’t available every day, and on the days he wasn’t there, the difference was very noticeable. Without him, the staff in the breakfast area often felt unfriendly, rude, and not very welcoming.

Another issue was the large number of mosquitos in the breakfast area. There were so many that it was uncomfortable to sit there, and it honestly didn’t feel safe for small children.

The rooms also had several problems. The locker in our room wasn’t working when we arrived, and after several calls and a long wait, someone finally came to fix it. My parents also had to change their room because their door was jammed and wouldn’t open, which was very inconvenient. In addition, the towels in the room looked more yellow than white, which made them seem old and not very clean.

The swimming pool area was quite concerning. The wooden flooring around the pool was broken in places, and the wood felt weak and rotting as if it could give way. Inside the pool, the steps were sharp and had no clear markings, making them difficult to see. Some of the pool floor tiles were also chipped and coming out, which could easily cause injuries.

One positive point I must mention is the housekeeping staff. They were absolutely amazing — very polite, professional, and they cleaned the rooms really well. Their effort and attitude were truly appreciated.

Overall, despite the great housekeeping team and Mr. Nokia’s efforts, the hotel has many maintenance, service, and safety issues that need serious attention. Because of these problems, we unfortunately would not recommend staying here.

Nice hotel lovely staff

The location is strategic. The staff very friendly and always keep smiling. The rooms looks modern with sub urban.Al looks good.Also they have roof top and swimming pool.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and well maintained, which made me feel comfortable right away. The staff were extremely kind, friendly, and always willing to help with anything I needed. Their positive attitude really made a difference in my experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Clean and pleasant room. We arrived from the airport late and planned on moving on in the morning so did not get to see the pool area however the staff were really friendly.
