Parking is organized well, location is central, beds were comfortable,
We stayed in room 152, which is the ground floor/basement. The heater in our room did not work and there was a replacement heater, which wad clearly not enough for the size of the room. No outlets near beds. Sink is outside of the bathroom, which was a bit funny as well.
Great location of the city centre. Lovely view from the backyard. Very nice and clean room, well heated in winter.
Nothing
We booked Wanaka Hotel as an emergency accommodation for the day because the road to Lake Tekapo was closed and we were uncertain if we were going to make it the trip there so we decided to stay in Wanaka for 1 more night. The staff were super helpful and accommodating. I really appreciated that especially because it was our first time in Queenstown and we sort of panicked about not being able to make it to our planned destination. It gave us comfort.
none
There were not enough visible signs directing guests to the hotel rooms, especially at night in the dark.
helpful staff and cozy
tv wasn’t great
Nothing.
Everything. The morning receptionist was especially unfriendly as she couldn’t be bothered raising her eyes from the computer screen to say good morning or hello neither time, when we passed her twice.
Whole complex was Clean and tidy.
Room was clean and warm with good facilities
Short walk into town
The location of this hotel is like no other, it is very easy to get to. Once there you can walk around the city area and the lake, the access to the main parts of town is incredible. The bed was comfortable and the room had all the comforts you need.
The room was really cold and the small heater in the room didn't seem to keep up. They have an additional small heater to plug in but the cold was intense, it warmed up sometime in the middle of the night only. To top that, we may not be able to have too many rooms running heating because the power went out on both our rooms at some point and the staff said it was normal. I hadn't noticed, only finding out because the room started getting even colder.
We were upgraded to the Royal Suite. How fabulous to sit in a chair once used by the Queen Mother and back then by the now King Charles. A real highlight. I have to say the bed was one of the best I have ever experienced in a hotel room. Sooo comfy.
As I age the shower over the bath was not ideal but was ok.
Clean and close to the lake
Mix up with room on arrival. Rooms were freezing even though heaters were on. Staff were not friendly and quite abrupt on arrival. Beds super uncomfortable. Parking horrendous and carting suitcases to rooms frustrating. Better of spending more and being more comfortable, although the price wasn’t cheap.
Friendly staff, clean and good size room. Free parking
Location is very good. Plenty of shops nearby.
Long corridors and stairs to negotiate with heavy suitcases. The carpet in the corridor buckles from suitcase wheels. Outdoor parking means ice on the windshield in the morning. Be prepared. Like most older rooms - not much vanity space for two sets of toiletries.
So close to town and warm rooms
No issues
