The best part were the house cats. There is a kitten named Kiki and a cat named Elizabeth that roam the lobby and are so sweet. If you are missing your pets at home, they fill the void so well. The staff Javier and Ivan , especially, were fantastic. Everything was purrrfect!
I dreamt about this hotel for months before coming, and it even surpassed my expectations. We watched the New Year’s fireworks from the aforementioned rooftop pool, and had the best view in town! There is a second pool, & a jacuzzi.
Excellent service from Javier, Carolina, et al, who were friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome.
Located next to a river & 2-minute walk to Isla Cuale, where we went for shade, picturesque restaurants, & the outdoor tourist market.
The lobby also plays home to 2 adorable cats.
And the breakfast (which is included if you book directly with them, and the booking is less expensive, too) is tasty and a good size.
My well-traveled adult daughter said this might be her favorite hotel ever. It’s certainly one of mine.
We stayed at this boutique hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff is very friendly and hard working. But there are cats living in the hotel, sleeping in the lobby and on all the furniture and tables. I am highly allergic to cats and struggled to breathe the whole week we were there. I had to buy strong allergy meds to add to what I was already taking and they did not help. They refused to give us a refund to stay somewhere else. I will never stay here again and cannot recommend it.
I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and I even had my bachelor party at the hotel, which Alex helped us arrange. The breakfast is delicious. The location is very convenient and quiet and the staff is excellent. the new tower is also a beautiful addition with the rooftop pool. Will continue coming back.
This place is a hidden gem. So much character! Perfect location - views of the river (bird watching and iguanas) and a view of the ocean at sunset from the rooftop infinity pool. It's a safe neighborhood for walking and we walked through Cat Island all the way down to Los Muertos beach.
I didn't find the VIP transfer from the airport all that helpful. We still had to wait quite a while and it wasn't cheaper than an Uber.
I love the design th frescos the trompe loi. The staff are marvelous. The hallways stairways and balconies feel like a cross between the the Winchester Mistry house and a Felini movie....
Spiral stairs narrow stairs two rooftoo pools and a roof top hot tub that has view to die for. The Decoration is quircky and artisticly done aomeone has fun with that job. The baristas ar so fun and usually the people that stay there are too. A great place to spend New Year Eve! Locationmos superb and lovely to walk at night.
The river is charming as you sit on the front room balconies...
Love everthing especially the lobby and the cat Mascot!
Unique, quiet, tugged away. Large bottled water supply. Swimming pools and hot tub. Close to bus stations to botanical garden and other tour pickup places.
The bed sheets are a little old and worn.
Scarlett room was very small. Had to climb up to, and down from bed, and could barely squeeze by bed (11 inch wide gap), to get to fridge. Little, to no hot water (this was similar to when we stayed in the Maria room two years ago).
Staff was friendly, and helpful, as before.
Lovely in every way. Great location, walkable to restaurants and the beach. The rooftop bar with beautiful view and super bartender made it easy to enjoy a nightcap at "home". All the staff were super! Breakfast had good choices. The sound of the river was an unexpected pleasure.
Wish we could have stayed longer.
Fabulous interior
what an amazing surprise. Beautiful and whimsical. staff were very helpful and really pleasant. the room (medusa) was a real treat with amazing views from 2 balconies, and, to our delight, the shower. the room was spacious and very comfortable, including the wonderful bedding
my wife compared the hotel to a Wes Anderson movie
the location by the river was quiet yet within short walking distance of all you want to see in old town PV.
my wife and I stayed at the end of a busy Mexican Holiday. I was looking for a small boutique hotel to end the trip and arrived with little expectation. we left now having a place we would return to without hesitation on our next stay in PV. we have stayed often in PV and Rivera Del Rio was the most joyful hotel experience we have had.
thank you Rivera Del Rio for being what you are, a truly unique pleasure
I love staying at this hotel. Its location in a quieter part of Zona Romantico is great. Front desk staff have been kind and attentive on both visits. One room has separate bedrooms and baths so it’s perfect when I was with several others and once with my nephew.
This was our third stay at the Rivera Del Rio Boutique. We absolutely love the small size, location across from the island, proximity to the Malecon boardwalk and ocean, and lots of restaurants. The hotel is the former home of a Texas socialite and each room is unique. Since we have been going there they have added a new wing with an infinity pool and bar. There is also a small rooftop pool in the original structure. If you book directly with the hotel, breakfast is included (and delicious!). Our favorite rooms are in the original structure, but we like older buildings. Others in our family prefer the brand new rooms that have been added. Many rooms have balconies and the ambiance (and resident kitties) add to one's enjoyment. Staff is super accommodating.
I want to keep this hidden gem all to myself! I felt like an old hollywood starlet coming & going from this hotel! Staff were laid back & attentive. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is full of charm & a great place for a romantic getaway solo trip or for friends. It’s the only place I’ll stay when I come back. Perfect location if you want to be away from the crowds but still close to everything.
