Cairns Central Plaza Apartment Hotel

All good. Totally serviceable in all areas. Will stay again.

Bed was super comfy. Very clean. Spacious with a great view of the city. Right opposite Cairns Central Shopping Centre and Pho Viet (amazing Vietnamese eatery).

The name said it all 'Central' close to shops, transport and the city

Great location for access to the train station. Walking distance to shopping centre and restaurants. Lovely roof top pool & spa with views to the water and over the city.

We booked 2 adjoining rooms. The air conditioner in one did not function, and the TV in the other did not function! So my wife and I swapped rooms.

This review is for the cairns Central Plaza Apartment Hotel- be aware their is another property with a very similar name. I found out the hard way and arranged an Uber but for the other proprty!

Pros:
Within walking distance to shopping mall and train station
Parking available

Cons:
A block of residential apartments that sell their spare rooms
The room stank of bleach, overwhelmingly so. We had to leave the door open to try to get rid of the smell.
Toilet would not stop running so we have to turn the cistern tap off every time we used it.
The hardest back breaking beds I have ever slept in.
An excuse for a kitchenette.....no stove, range or anything
Threatening signs regarding smoke alarms-completely uncalled for.
Limited reception hours
Expensive!

Either have a hotel or residents not both!

The property was in a convenient location, close to transport and shops

Car parks were limited and too small.

We had rubbish removed twice. Our unit got cleaned properly not once. In 7 days.

The bathroom was a joke - no benches - just a room with sink shower and toilet. For disabled people it looked like. Hardly what you expect when booking an apartment.

2 to 3 star at best

Horrible stay.

Manager lacks basic customer service skills and hotel etiquette which is quite concerning. Receptionist should be in a manager role as she's amazing and helpful and approachable. Balcony could use a good wash with a gurney. Its been the same filthy condition for months. Aircon needs replacing desperately. Be prepared for housekeepers and start cleaning even if you have the DND sign on the door and are sleeping.

Horrible disgusting receptionist. He was Very rude to me and my family. DO NOT BOOK HERE. Facilities are also quite dirty and not maintained. This hotel doesn’t deserve more than 2.5 stars. Many better hotels around, don’t waste your time here!
