Home2 Suites By Hilton Erie, Pa,
March 2025
Stayed at Home2 in 2024. The fridge wasn't working. Noticed after the 4 bottles of milk got spoilt. The room thermostat did not work at all. Told the front desk. Was told when you leave remind us.
When I returned to Erie in 2025, had booked in another hotel. After requesting for a specific room at the time I made my reservation, the hotel did not have the room available at check-in. Said, they got sold out the previous night unexpectedly. So, I decided to look else where and landed up at Home2, not by choice.
Was given a room on the 3rd floor.
The bathroom sink was very dirty, the inside roof of the fridge was dirty. Looked to be chocolate ice cream. The microwave was dirty in the inside. Had the smallest sized micro not mounted, on the counter.
After being in the room for a few hours, could get the smell of urine. Thought it was from the carpet. After a few days noticed this huge yellow stain on the side of the box mattress. There was no cover or bed-skirt.
I then checked the other bed. The mattress was so stained on the side facing the window.
Each time the guest in the room above flushed could hear the flushing sound.
I called the front desk several times to talk to the manager. Each time was told the manager was out at a meeting or at another property.
I had a fractured hand so my family dropped me off and helped me with all the bags (many as I was relocating).
I just sprayed the room and covered the side of the beds with shower curtains and cardboard (from Target) to hide the stains.
Staying at this hotel was temporary. Had to wait for my family to help me to move. However, before I could move, the hotel said there was a leak from the bathroom area into the room below.
I was asked to vacate the room immediately. I requested for a room on the 4th floor. Was given one with an adjoining door. I asked for another room without the adjoining door. The front desk personnel, Christina, by name said they did not have one as they were all sold out.
The hotel did not have the decency of asking me if I would like to switch rooms the following days.
I could hear the guest in the adjoining room. His conversation on the phone, TV program he watched, when he used the micro. Very audible.
The 2nd Queen bed in this room was one of those folding beds.
The hotel held me responsible for the leak. Charged me $1000 for room damages. Also, charged me a $250 cleaning fee because of the shower curtain and cardboard I used to cover the mattresses in the room on the 3rd floor.
I wasn't told about the charges just saw the charges on my credit card and then checked the folios.
I had told Christina about the mattress and urine stains.
All my complaints were not looked at. Just ignored.
When I moved to the room on the 4th floor, I inspected the bathroom floor and found cracks at the side and behind the toilet and at the side of the counter.
A few days after I was asked to move rooms, the hotel sales manager, Nikki, called to tell me the hotel management has asked for me to leave the hotel within an hour and that I cannot stay any Chase Group hotels (local Erie company) owned by them as they held me responsible for the leak.
For water to leak from the bathroom area there had to be a leak with the sink or toilet or stand-in shower.
I asked to talk to the manager, Jennifer. Was told by Christina, that Jennifer is on vacation and would be back after 2 weeks. When I emailed Jennifer, received an out-of-office reply saying she would return on the 15th and that was 2 days not 2 weeks from the date of me asking Christina.
At the time of moving out, I showed the housekeeping manager the crack in the bathroom floor and if she saw the stained mattresses on the 3rd floor room as I had told Christina about it. She said she did. She recently joined the hotel. She said, she would update the hotel manager.
After, I moved out of the hotel which was very difficult for me given my injured hand. I asked Nikki via email to give me the contact of the person who made the decision of asking me to move out within an hour. She said, it was Jennifer and Jennifer is no longer with the hotel.
I asked Nikki whom I can talk to about the issue and why I am being held responsible for the water leak or room cleanliness fee.
She never replied.

Nothing
Very clean room. Everything looked brand new. Breakfast had many options. Would definitely stay again.
Good setup for us and our grandson.
The pool wasn’t warm enough and it was very noisy. There is a need for acoustic panels.
Spacious clean room
Constant thumping throughout the night I believe children and family should be on the first and second floor third and fourth floor for adults especially on a holiday weekend
Leaving.
False advertisement of EV charging stations. Waiting twenty minutes without a line to check in, due to hotel staff being on the phone with another guest. Trash in hallways! Managers lack of communication or decency to return a phone call.
Easy location!
Bathroom door was not functioning.

Location
Dirty sink and shower and dishes in dishwasher
No one at desk when arrived after long drive
No soap shampoo or conditioner in shower. Needed to be refilled
Great location near all the hustle and bustle of Peach St, right across the street from Splash Lagoon! A little bit of a drive from Presque Isle/Waldameer, but nothing too crazy! Staff was very nice. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, lots of different options. We loved the pool, warm temperature of the water and the room itself, very clean, and a cute little patio area to the side of it. The room itself wasn’t perfect, could’ve used a little bit of a better cleaning, the fridge and coffee tray could’ve used a little bit more of a thorough clean, but really nothing too bad at all. Housekeeping seems to be understaffed which I can empathize with personally working in a similar line of work so I understand! Sheets and towels smelled freshly laundered and were clean, bathroom was stocked with extra towels, soap, tp. Nice cool AC and when it got a little too chilly at night, I turned the temp on the thermostat up a few notches and it was perfect. Bed was comfy, room is spacious with a nice little kitchenette area. Wifi worked great. Lobby was clean and welcoming and even had crayons and coloring sheets to keep my littlest one occupied while we waited for our room lol.
Upon checking in, there was an issue with the front desk staff informing me my payment was declined. I had booked a few weeks in advance through booking.com, which was no fault of the hotel staff themself, but on booking.com’s end I was told. Caused a slight panic since we were two hours from home with two young kids, and the payment had already come out of my checking account and I had the confirmation number and everything. Regardless the front desk staff (wish I could remember their names!) helped to sort the issue in a prompt manner and were kind about it. Only constructive criticism I have would be to do a little bit more thorough cleaning of the rooms, but like I said, was nothing major. Also the walls are a little thin and you can hear a lot of noise from nearby rooms, thankfully I travel with a sound machine so it was fine!
Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Rooms were clean.
Breakfast service was understaffed. They were out of coffee and alot of food during the breakfast service
Los cuartos. Súper lindos
La picina muy fría
