Good location, staff was friendly, had breakfast daily. Had kitchen in the room. Outside was well maintained.
Since we arrived before 3 pm and couldn’t check in, we asked whether they could store our suitcases until 3 pm, they had no storage. The bathroom was really small, shower had mold, not well maintained inside. Missing dishes and cutlery. Nobody told us that there would be no room cleaning, we found out by reading a paper stuck on the mirror in the bathroom that towels would be changed and trash taken out every other day. This was done by housekeeping knocking on the door and asking if we needed towels or trash thrown out every other day. The room was cleaned completely only when we specifically asked, which was once. At night I saw usually one staff member by the front desk. There is no security guard that I saw, meanwhile the front door opens automatically for everyone. There was no ATM in the hotel and the staff didn’t know where we could find the closest one. These are just small details.
We booked Erie late and the Homewood Suites was sold out as were a lot of other places. Home2 Suites can be a toss up in terms of quality. This hotel wasn't necessarily bad quality, it was kind of just standard. It had a small, but decent gym. Parking was easy. Location was really good.
But the value for money was completely out of sync. It was unacceptably expensive for the service and the product.
I fully and completely understand the laws of supply and demand. When the demand exceeds supply then prices go up as high as they need to until there is price resistance. BUT, hoteliers need to make sure they can deliver a product deserving of those prices. This hotel was about twice as expensive as it should have been. So fair warning, book Erie early in the summer months, find an Airbnb or just know you're going to get gouged.
Clean, friendly staff, room was comfortable, breakfast was very good.
Only minor complaint about the entire place would be pillows are the greatest, but not awful at all.
We loved the size and comfort of our room. The bed, bedding and pillows were fabulous. Staff was very accommodating and helpful.
The breakfast was not good at all. Very disappointed in that, but otherwise the rest of the stay was wonderful
When I checked into my room, there were dishes in the wash cycle in the dishwasher. I didn't expect housekeeping to wait in the room for the cycle to end, but housekeeping should have returned, restocked the dishes, then declared the room "ready". Alternatively, alert me when I checked in.
The shower door (Rm 212) was non-functional, from inside or outside the shower.
No USB ports for charging; only AC receptacles.
For my 2 overnights, I was absent from my room from 9 - 11 and 11:30- 5; no maid service at all, ever.. No dirty towel pick-up, no bed made, no vacuuming or bathroom wipe. At $300+/night, I did not expect maid service only between occupants.
Nice location, easy check in/out
Boogers, smears, debris, and hair, on everything in the hotel and rooms. Not worth $300/night!
Comfy bed. Room was pretty quiet as far as outside traffic. Clean rooms.
Terrible breakfast. A/C unit is wonky. Very cold then very warm. Hard to get it just right.
Cleanliness
Pricey
GOOD
NOTHING
I was visiting the area during an out of town baseball tournament. Reserved 2 rooms for my family and friends which was a mistake. The room door lock worked only once, after we placed our belongings in the room and went to the pool. Asked on duty manager about it 3 times, gave us new keycards each time which didn’t work and seemed he tried to ignore the problem. We were locked out of our room for several hours without our belongings. The on duty manager clearly did not have help, very poor management. Based on other recent reviews this hotel is going down fast.
Location near HWY 90.
It needs updating, especially the bathroom.
We were there last weekend for a soccer tournament. Checked in late Saturday afternoon. 1 Elevator broken. Lock on bathroom door broken. Not enough towels. After a torrential downpour at the afternoon game, everyone was looking forward to a hot shower before dinner. Grandson (the athlete) jumped in first and came out a few seconds later and said no hot water. I called front desk. They said known issue (though noone told us when we checked in) and there'd be a $50 refund for the inconvenience. Was hoping would be fixed Sunday AM. It was not. I mentioned issues again when we checked out and person on duty said Manager would be calling everyone Monday but they were giving everyone $25 refund. I said that was not what I was told Saturday. But she did not return my call Tuesday or since (now Thursday). I called and was told she'd left for day and I asked for her to call me back. I called HHonors. Was offered $100 credit but I asked if that was all they could do was paid $336 for this room and noone could shower in 2 days. Was told it would be escalated and I would hear from someone in 48-72 hrs. I did not. I called Corporate again and was told the case was closed and hotel had given me 10k (no cash refund). I said I hadn't spoken to anyone let alone agreed to it. There were notes in system that they'd offered us the option to cancel without penalty on Saturday. They did NOT as noone ever told us there was no hot water on check in let alone that there was an option to cancel and try to find a room elsewhere. Not only am I highly unsatisified with their lack of response, the sh*tty "credit", but they they never had the decency to even speak to me and closed the case without my permission! So no hot water, 1 elevator working, a broken door lock... no consideration for my HHhonors membership or as a paying consumer AT ALL!
NO HOT WATER for our entire stay. We were told to take cold showers. One elevator was broken. Room could barely be considered clean. Patio area is not well kept. Grills were disgusting. Find somewhere else to stay.
