Acra Hotel – Excellent hotel, but very disappointing salon experience

Six months ago, I stayed at Acra Hotel with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. We absolutely loved the hotel — the service, atmosphere, and overall experience were excellent and truly five-star.

During that stay, I had my hair done by a hairdresser at the hotel. I had clear trim bonding extensions, and I was extremely happy with the result. The work was professional, comfortable, and the extensions lasted over six months, which says a lot about the quality. I promised the hairdresser I would return again.

Four months later, I rebooked flights from London and travelled back with my whole family, which cost a significant amount of money. Unfortunately, I could not stay in the hotel this time, so I stayed nearby. However, after arranging it with Guest Relations, I was allowed to use the hotel facilities, including the salon, specifically to have my hair done again.

Sadly, I was informed that my original hairdresser was no longer there and had moved to Morocco. He recommended another hairdresser working at Acra Salon inside the hotel. Trusting the hotel’s reputation and standards, I agreed.

Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing. Instead of the same method I had before, my hair was done using beads, which caused immediate pain. My scalp became swollen, the extensions started coming off, and the work did not even last one day. My head was sore and uncomfortable, and the damage was clear.

I sent the hairdresser a video showing the condition of my hair and scalp. He agreed that the work was not acceptable and said he would refund my money. However, he is now asking me to send my personal ID documents, claiming he will send the refund via Western Union. This has made me very uncomfortable and concerned, as this is not a professional or appropriate request.

I find this situation very upsetting, especially given the high standards and reputation of Acra Hotel. Experiences like this can discourage loyal guests from returning, which is a shame because the hotel itself is truly excellent.

To be clear, I would happily return to Acra Hotel again — but I would never use the salon based on this experience. I simply want my refund for a service that caused pain, damage, and did not last even a day.

I sincerely hope Acra Guest Relations sees this review and contacts me to resolve this matter properly and professionally.

While upon entering into reception, you can instantly feel the moderness, marble floors and walls and coolness.

The hotel room is nearly perfect! Nice and cool, white and fluffy sheets, desk ,so many bathroom items like combs , make up removal set and sponges.The area is really clean and modern and feels so relaxing.

But more of the exciting things happen in Akra! Across the road from Akra V is Akra, place where you have the BIGGEST breakfast know to man. There is so much options like 1 large table filled with just cheese! It was do big yet so yummy!

At Akra there is also pool 1 and pool 2 for anyone pool 3 was for kids and pool 4 was for strictly just adults. There is also aan indoor heated pool which leads outside aswell.

Another cool feature is if you go down an elevator the sea is right there, you can swim easily.

There is also a gym and some other cool activities. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND you will not regret it!!!

We stayed at the hotel as a family of 5 in October 2025. We had a great experience. The hotel was lovely, we loved everything about it. The staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive. The rooms were well stocked, beds were comfy. Breakfast and facilities on Akra hotel were amazing. Facilities at Akra Hotel across the road which we had access to, were great, and the staff there made our stay very special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
There is a restaurant/cafe next to the hotel - Shakespear - it was very good.

We usually stay at the main Akra hotel but it was fully booked so we stayed at Akra V.

The hotel itself is nice but would I stay again, No..

Reason being, it was quite noisy and not as relaxing as the main Akra,

Another thing was I asked for upgrade on check in to ask for a balcony room, only to be told that they were fully booked, which was not the case as I could see from our room that no-one was in the rooms.

Also upon check out, we had extras to pay for from mini bar, which we were happy to pay, but no actual breakdown of bill was offered.

The cafe downstairs was lovely, the food was amazing and loved the vibe.

Me and my two friends had an amazing stay at Akra V Hotel! We loved all the facilities and every member of staff was so friendly and welcoming. Honestly one of the best holidays I’ve been on — would definitely come back!

The property was in a really nice space and we luckily got the room with the sea view! The staff were really friendly and it was great to receive the same access and benefits for those staying at the main hotel. The one thing that I would request is for staff to not enter the room immediately after knocking and wait for the guests to attend the door as there were one or two occasions where this had happened. Overall, this was a really nice hotel to stay in!

It is an exceptional hotel that offers outstanding value for money. The location provides easy access to the sea. The service is truly 5-star, with staff who are well-trained, professional, and attentive to detail. The variety and quality of the breakfast are superb. Surely recommended for short stay in Antalya.

Stayed at akra v with access to akra main hotel. Breakfast and evening meals are outstanding and the staff are excellent!
Bed could be more comfortable .. sauna and Turkish bath are lovely to use.
Panoramic view around hotel is second to none .

Wonderful place to stay while in Antalya. Fantastic location, beautiful hotel with full access to the Akra Resort which is just across the road. Hotel provides a quiet environment against the big resort. Superb reception staff, always friendly and helpful. Room was great, cleaned whenever we needed it. Resort facilities included padel, pool and beach club access, spa and amazing arcade in the basement of Akra V. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will book again for another stay.

On the 1st of September, our wedding day, our journey began at Akra Hotel.
We spent our honeymoon there and everything was beyond our expectations.
From the service and hospitality to the staff’s attitude, the quality of the food, and even the prices , everything was flawless. There was nothing that could cause us any dissatisfaction.

We were especially delighted with the Asman Restaurant and Mr.Volkan for his service.
In the Guest Relations department, we would like to sincerely thank Mr. Orhan for his warm hospitality and professional attitude, and we are also very grateful to the Reception team for the quick room arrangement and the late check out.

A true 5 star experience! The staff is incredibly welcoming and clearly well trained in hospitality. I had a room with a balcony and an ocean view and I just had the most wonderful stay. Spent the day at the Akra gym, pool, and ‘beach’, I loved it so much I added another night, the breakfast was fantastic as well. Can’t say enough good things and can’t wait to come back!

Pros: Check inn, reception good. Area nice closer to everything. Akra V needs completely update in rooms/facilities as Akra Hotel main building, but still OK. Food variety and quality are good at Panora Restaurant where hotel serves breakfast and dinner.
Cons: As a Dog friendly hotel, the first day couldn't sleep all night, because below floor a dog barked, maked voices all night till morning. This policy disturbes all other guests, pets should be not allowed. Next day, asked to change my room to another side of the building, where pets are not allowed.

Breakfast hall at Panora Restaurant at main Akra Building is a totally chaotic place. Couldn't find 10 minutes any single clean table for sitting, asking several staff to clean a table but all says they are busy! Stayed in total 5 days, each day same regardless of the time l arrived. Coffee/tea/water service at all under control of service staff so you cannot take by yourself. However, they don't even ask or bring you tea/cofee/water, you should ask several times to several staff. All behaves they are so busy and will bring later! So, I was going to bar area and bringing my own coffee/tea because no staff is not available for serving.
Please return to old system and allow guests to get their own coffee/tea from the common area as they are getting their food.
Asmani restaurant at top floor of Akra Hotel over priced, menu is so strange and food is not tasty at all. We ordered several things to try and paid more than 200$ and left with no taste. Dissatisfied, never ever Asmani Restaurant again! Pablito also we had similar experience, prices relatively cheaper than Asmani but tastes are awful. Both were better before, but something has been changed in a bad way.

Wifi of Akra V guest, is not available in Panora Restaurant and also most part of the main building, including pools, etc. It is not required a rocket science, please make wifi work everywhere perfectly for all your guests. You should immediately check and solve this issue. As Akra V guest, we could not even check online menu in the restaurants of main building due to lack of wifi. As a guest, It was really annoying.
