Anyone staying at this hotel needs to understand some of the uniques aspects about this hotel which we wish we had known before we booked. First, while some might find this isolated location atop a cliff overlooking the sea reason enough to stay, there is no direct access to the sea. You can walk a quarter mile or so to some stairs that lead down to the shore but that is a bit precarious and the water was cold and rough during our stay in June. The staff are very friendly when they are present, but they literally lock the main lobby after we checked in around 5pm and did not open again until breakfast the next day. So if you are looking for a scenic quiet and remote spot then this might be for you.
The hotel is dated which some may find charming, but the rooms are spartan without AC and the bathrooms in particular are extremely small and outdated with exposed plumbing and a shower that spills out onto the floor with a plastic curtain barrier. The whole floor gets wet right next to the cramped toilet and extra small sink. The beds are particularly firm which we found uncomfortable. There is a nice path to walk along the cliff, but it is about a mile walk to the quaint town if you want dinner or even a drink as the hotel has no services after 5pm until breakfast. There is an unattended "spa" in the basement of the adjacent building, but that has open coed showers and sauna (note they observe nordic custom of note requiring swim suits or clothes in these facilities).
